Blaze meanwhile perks up a little. "An explosion? A little cliché, but still fun to watch." 

He jumps behind Rob and Jack, and as they duck he peeks up over their heads as does Magmar.

The light coming from Electrode becomes blinding a bare instant before it exploded with devastating force, hurling the group out into the back lot of the Gym.

Jack lands face down on the ground, the first in a pile-o-trainers, followed by Rob, Blaze, Magmar, and empollion.

Meanwhile Serena (plunger still stubbornly covering her face), Desmond, Brendan, Leo and November all got their own pile a few feet away.

"Mmmm mmphh." Jack struggles to try to get out."

Desmond, Brendan and Serena extricated themselves relatively quickly, Serena still tugging on the plunger as she stood up. "mmphn nnm?" she asked.

"Here let me help with that plunger" November said.

November manages to get it off and tosses the plunger over her shoulder "now that is taken care of."

"Mm mmph mmph!" SId a more angry jack

Rob recalls empollion, lightening the pile.

Serena sighed in relief. "Thanks November." Hearing Jack's voice issuing from the pile, she smiled ruefully. Served him right after hitting her with that plunger.

November didn't seem to hear Jack "OK Snorunt, before the guards come, use Icy Wind on Electrode's friend."

Jack gives up trying to say anything.

Desmond enlisted the help of his Beedrill to disperse the pile of Trainers, prodding them with its giant spike-hands until they got up and off of Jack. "There we go."

"Did you really have to help him?" Serena asked, looking spiteful.

"In light of what we just found out we can't afford to be petty." Serena glared at Desmond before sighing, eyes closed. He did have a point, however angry she was.

Jack sees the situation and releases quilava to assist in the battle.

Snorunt continues to use Icy Wind, to slow down its foe.

Said Fahrenjet was actually embedded in a wall, having been hit hard by Electrode's SelfDestruct, not making any moves to pursue them.

"Guys, let's move. The police will be here any minute!"

"Ok, where to?" Asks Rob

"Out of the gym's proximity I'd venture" November said.

Jack can see the glow of red and blue lights coming down the street.

"Let's go!"

Serena walked to Jack. "Can we, ah, forget the whole plunger thing and move on?" she asked.

"Before we move on, we better just move."

"Right." The group promptly moved.

You are now out of the Gym's vicinity, what is your next move?

"Let's go figure out what to do with all that data when we get to somewhere safe. And figure out what that strange machine was in the gym." Riley says as his Riolu sat on his shoulder apparently guiding Riley. Both seem unscaved by the explosion.

"Right. Here, I'll transfer the files to all of your Pokédexes..." Brendan said, fiddling with his own. After a moment, his eyes widened. "Uh-oh..."

"What?"

"T-the files are gone!"
