Pokémon Lavender

Post by Flagmauth on Wed Sep 11, 2013 10:29 am

Currently undergoing overhauls...Bear with me.

THE LEAGUE

Original text:
In accordance with what I believe is popular opinion Shrug I'm going to start a new Pokémon RP, on the grounds that Pokémon Alexandrite is slow as all get out in updating. Thus, this should be a more sandbox-oriented RP along the lines of the T&T RPs, with multiple people capable of DMing and playing actual characters.

So yeah, there's no over-arching storyline that you don't make for yourself. At any rate, we've got some things to nail down for all the people who will be participating:

What region should this take place in? (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Bombur?)

Should Pokémon from all regions be available in whatever region is chosen?

How should we start (i.e. in Pallet Town, camping in Petalburg Woords, etc. etc.)

[NOTE] You don't necessarily have to know things about Pokémon to join (I'm looking at you, Opera!) because you will learn as you go along, just like your character would.

hmmm, I'm more familiar with the Kanto region, and I think pokemon from all generations should be welcome.

I am the most familiar with Sinnoh, but Kanto is a good region as well.

(well I know now that Jeff doesn't know much about Kanto, and I personally don't want to annoy the DM with looking things up so, what region is Mycro the most familiar with?)

Hoenn, and since we haven't actually begun the RP you needn't bother with parentheses Wink

Although 'tis worth noting that I'm not actually the DM - it's multi-DM/variable-DM

I think Sinnoh would be best.

Alright, that's one vote Kanto, one vote Hoenn, one vote Sinnoh, and Numbers oscillating between Sinnoh and Kanto.

could someone explain multi-DMing to me, I understand it has multiple DM's but how is it different from one DM?

Basically the different DMs (i.e. everyone in the RP) take turns running the plotline. So, to use a mostly hypothetical example from T&T 1, we initially started heading north to head off an army of goblins (set up by me) and got diverted to take care of a castle controlled by dark forces (Numbers) all while dealing with the Dark Feldspar and elven interference (Doom) and a vague threat in the background (PW). It can get confusing at times but so long as people take turns with it it's pretty workable.

Some things that come to mind are perhaps camping in Petalburg Woods?

Roughly - kinda the same system that Sheo was using for Alexandrite except that with no overall DM we do get to decide how fast we level up. For example both Jack and November are starting with multiple Pokémon (We have two people with a Kirlia, Quilava, Joltick, Snorunt and Spinda between them) and some of them have already evolved from something.

No, there's still mine to take into consideration. Also PW may join as well. I'll work on my character's bio so we can start ASAP. From what I understand now Jack is camping in the woods and November is passing through on her way to Rustboro.

It doesn't have a set start time, technically you and Numbers may start whenever you wish Smile
