Serena glared at Jack. "The only reason it went so badly last time was because you kept throwing the sap at us!"

"Yeah, that was fun."

"No it wasn't!"

"You are lucky that none of the sap hit Riolu or it will hurt you worse than back at the gym." Riley says as he dusts himself off after having dove for the ground to dodge some incoming sap. His aura sight as at full power and then some. "But I don't get it, why is my aura sight better out here than in the gym?" Riley asks both himself and the group at the same time.

"What is aura sight anyway?" Desmond asked, Serena being occupied arguing with Jack.

An unnaturally sweet scent was in the air, meanwhile. Riolu was strongly drawn to whatever it was that was issuing the smell.

"It's sort of like looking at life and the surroundings, everything living or not emits aura. It has a slight coloration that can tell me two things, one the current mood the person is and two the personality of the person. Yet aura sight isn't restricted to line of sight it is like an omniscient view of the main character's surroundings. Being able to see aura means that it is strong and it can support a extra ability to your own. Mine is obviously sight but there is speed, stealth, strength, and a slight telekinetic capabilities but it depends on how much aura is in the area. More life in an area means that there is more aura to tap into.... Hey has anybody noticed Riolu moving away from the group?" Riley asked as he points to his Riolu which is still walking away from the group.

Desmond looked thoughtful. "With all the trees, plants and Pokémon around here maybe that's why your Aura Sight is so clear. What's up with your Riolu?"

"Don't know about my Riolu but that aura clearing theory has a good chance of being right. Riolu's aura seems to be in some sort of trance." Riley says as he scans the area in front of Riolu and makes sure to detect any possibilities on where his Pokemon is going. (Tell me what I'm seeing Mycro.)

Riley's Aura Sight is jumbled with patterns and images; Flying-, Grass- and Bug-type Pokémon abound in Petalburg Woods and help obscure what exactly Riolu is moving towards, to say nothing of the hazy signature of the trees themselves. It is clear, however, that whatever it is is larger than most of the Pokémon nearby, nearly nine feet long and serpentine with a cobra-like hood.

Riolu itself seems to be less in a trance and more attracted to something that smells nice; something syrupy. The grouped Trainers can smell it too, except it's much fainter to them and Serena and Jack are too busy arguing for either to notice or care about the smell, their Auras sparking with annoyance.

"Arbok, Arbok!"Riley yelled in warning and Riolu snapped out of its hunt for the sweet smell and started scanning for the snake that Riley called out. Both of them were watching their surroundings waiting for an attack, Riolu got a Bone Rush attack ready to counter the Arbok's attack.

Anticlimactically, nothing happened.

Desmond and now Serena looked around too. "I don't see anything..."

"Sorry, thought that Riolu was going to get attacked." Riley says as Riolu walks to Riley and signals him to get lower. Riley takes a knee and Riolu jumped before brining the aura bone down on top of Riley's head before walking over to Desmond and Serena, watching them like he was daring them to laugh while tapping the bone in its paw. Riley got up while rubbing his head. "Sorry, it's the fact that there is so much aura and life here, it's throwing my sight off." Riley apologizes to the group before turning towards the smell was homing from. "What is that smell? Smells good."

Desmond turned away, apparently suffering from a convenient coughing fit, while Serena clamped a hand over her mouth.

Riolu Smiles and lets the bone disappear before jumping into Riley's shoulder.
"Really what is that smell?" Riley asked the group.

"Smells like syrup."

"Thanks. Now where is it coming from?" Riley asks the group.
