Pokémon Lavender

"That Hastreebel took out all three of my Pokémon too, Des. Sorry." Serena said.

"Did someone say battle!" Rus said as he came barging into the clearing which the others were in.

"Yes someone did say battle. More importantly do you know which direction is north?" November replied to Rus.

Serena, meanwhile, pulled out a small device rather like a Pokédex. "According to my PokéNav, north is...that way." She pointed to indicate the direction she meant.

Desmond, meanwhile, struck a melodramatic pose. "I challenge you, new person wearing weird hiking clothes, to a Pokémon battle!"

"Alright I choose you Armaldo"Rus said dramatically.

Desmond grabbed one of his oddly-colored Pokéballs and threw it. "Go, Whirlipede! Use Screech!" Whirlipede, emerging from its ball, emitted an earsplitting shriek that sent a visible wave of sound at Armaldo that clearly caused it pain, though not doing any damage. It also affected the other nearby Trainers. "Cut that out!" Serena said, covering her ears and wincing.

November, startle by the shriek tripped backward over a root "That was interesting..."

Blaze crouches down by a nearby tree, and tries to collect a large enough portion of kindling to light the tree on fire the old fashioned way.

Serena turned to November. "Hey, since your Pokémon need healing too, why don't we both head to Rustboro City?"

Blaze stands up, his efforts with the tree proving unsuccessful. "Hmm. Are we moving on then?" he says to no one in particular.

"Yes, let's go to Rustboro" November replies.

Blaze releases Ponyta, saddles up, and trots alongside the walkers, lost in his thoughts.

Serena gave Blaze an odd look, since he hadn't really been invited to come with them, but remained silent.

"Alright then, Armaldo use X-scissors!" Rus said excitedly as his Armaldo came hurtling at the Whirlipede. Armaldo seemed annoyed by the shriek but continued on with charging the whirlipede with his x-scissors.

[Armaldo learns X-Scissor at level 73, schoolkid. It's pretty much a thing that everyone is starting with Pokémon in the low 20s (which begs the question why aren't you using an Anorith instead?)]

(To be fair, I did claim to have a Magmar, which doesn't evolve from Magby till level 30. But the X-scissors probably are a little over powered.)

[True, and another couple of points to that effect: I never really officially claimed that we should all start in the low 20s (it makes sense but in my absent-minded panic over AP Government I sorta forgot) and also you run across TONS of trainers in-game who have Pokémon that evolved well before they should have. Same with moves, but fifty-odd levels before is saying a little much, in addition to the fact that X-Scissor is one of the most powerful Bug-type moves.]

Spinda thought it a good idea to show off by dancing [using teeter dance which confuses all nearby]. (rolling to snap out of confusion)
