Fate/alter chasm
The man considered himself extremely fortunate, as he regarded his opponent’s body. Only one could win the Grail, and despite all his experience he really hadn’t ever thought he would win the almighty wish-granting engine and the power that came with it. Hell, he hadn’t even thought through what he would wish for…
His Servant, a mighty warrior from an ancient legend, regarded him impassively, having no particular wish of his own. To do battle with other such frightfully powerful beings was its own reward, he had said, refusing to make his own wish on the Grail. He had no complaints, and would gladly return to the Throne of Heroes, satisfied.
So it was that the victor of the Holy Grail War approached the shining, golden cup that was the Greater Grail, mana pouring off of it in waves that almost carried physical force with them. He took it in his hands and made his wish…
And then all was black. Fire and pain tormented every cell of his body and a foul, tar-like substance scorched his lungs as it flooded them.
He managed to scream anyway, somehow.
You are a Master in the Fifth Holy Grail War, a magus selected to participate for the chance at a single wish. To aid you, you will summon a Heroic Spirit from myth, legend or history, in one of seven classes. Saber, Archer, Lancer, Rider, Berserker, Caster, and Assassin.
To some extent, you probably won't have any idea what's going on, as the War usually degenerates into a spectacular clusterfuck within days at the most. But hey, one wish, anything you want. Worth it.

SERVANT POKEDEX
- Saber I (Arturia):
- True Name: Arturia Pendragon/King Arthur
Title: King of Knights
Class: Saber
Alignment: Lawful Good
Appearance:
Personality:
Parameters:- Strength: B
- Endurance: C
- Agility: C
- Mana: B
- Luck: B
Skills:- Magic Resistance: A - Cancels spells of A-rank or below. In practice, this makes the Servant untouchable to modern Magi. It would not be an exaggeration to title Saber as a "Magus Killer."
- Riding: B - Most vehicles can be handled with above average skill - effectively including all modern vehicles of any variety. However, Saber cannot ride Monstrous Beasts or other phantasmal species.
- Instinct: A - The ability to innately and instantaneously sense the most favorable course to take in most situations. At A-rank, this is nclose to true precognition in combat. As an added bonus, it reduced by half any penalties from obstructed vision or hearing.
- Prana Burst: A - The ability to generate and manipulate prana around oneself. Saber generally uses this to augment the power and speed of her strikes in combat, as well as a mobility enhancement..
Noble Phantasm:- Invisible Air - Bounded Field of the Wind King
- C - A bounded field of sorts constructed from several layers of highly compressed air, crafted by Merlin himself. It hides the true nature of Saber's blade, rendering it completely invisible even as sparks fly from its surface in the heat of battle. Additionally, it can be deployed as a defensive barrier, manipulated with Saber's formidable Mana parameter, or released like a jet as a burst of wind for mobility or offensive purposes.
- Excalibur - Sword of Promised Victory
- A++ - Carries a property of anti-mystery, allowing it to pierce most defenses of a mystical nature. Additionally, when activated by invoking the name of this Noble Phantasm, it releases a destructive Anti-Fortress beam of energy imbued with the same anti-mystery property. Obviously this is pretty much the next best thing to carrying around your own personal handheld Death Star.
Wish: To delete herself and her rule from history. She believes that without her, the Battle of Camlann wouldn't have happened and by extension, the fall of her kingdom.

Class: Berserker
Alignment: Chaotic Evil
Appearance: Well-built, with an athletic frame. Fairly mismatched, worn armor pieces in angular shapes, lending it a relatively hand-me-down appearance that doesn’t offer quite as much protection as it otherwise would. Long, dark blonde hair kept pulled back from her face to keep it clear, and steel-gray eyes.
Personality: Quick to take insult and quicker to take action, Berserker is prideful, stubborn, and generally not a nice person to be around. Earn her respect, however, and you’ve got it for life - which is why it’s so damn hard to do. She obviously enjoys fighting and will seek it out rather than waiting for her Master to come up with a plan, and largely views him as a burden - not being as capable as her, he’s a massive target and significantly hinders her combat style.

Skills:- Territory Creation: C - Due to her personality and skills not being suited for it, Caster finds it difficult to even produce a magus workshop for herself.

- Witchcraft: EX - Recomposition of one’s internal composition to achieve external effects. At this rank, Caster is capable of manipulating even the components of external objects, specifically internal heat.
- Shapeshifting: A - Caster is capable of reconstituting her form into any living form, perfectly replicating it down to scent, mannerisms and speech patterns. The sole constraint upon this ability is that her fox tail will remain through whatever transformation she undergoes, though it cannot be sensed through normal means.

- EX - The mirror which Caster uses in combat, both to strike enemies in close quarters and as a magical focus. Once its function as a Noble Phantasm is activated, it temporarily raises her MNA stat to EX along with her rank in Divinity as it allows her to manifest her other eight tails, unleashing her full and devastating power upon her enemies. It is not for nothing that Caster is remembered as one of Japan’s Three Great Monsters.

Re: Fate/alter chasm
Takeshi Zarado, magus enforcer, looked around the secluded alleyway he chose for the summoning. he lays down the briefcase he was carrying and opens it, revealing an ancient arrowhead. He then makes the necessary preparations to summon his servant. placing the arrowhead in the center of the summoning circle, he starts the ritual.

Drake was confused for a moment but then ignored the fact some how remembering something about a grail war. and this surprised him, Drake usually doesn't remember stuff curtsey of being knocked around a bit to much at all and when he does it's usually life and dead.So Drake decided that he should hop to it. And quickly raid the closest museum found a shard of a sword from some great warrior that drake thinks he saw in a movie once. Drake quickly nabbed it a got out covering his tracks thinking any one who could fight monsters and dragons was ok in his book. And he set of to work in order to draw the summoning circle.
...
He sat there for a few hours trying to remember what the hell it looked like.
...
he then gave up and raid the local church for information on the war.
Content with his little shopping trip he began his summoning.

Re: Fate/alter chasm
In the house of Archibald, Waver Velvet finished his circle. In his hand he held a small red cloth, a piece of his king's glory. Around him stood several of his most trusted students, they came to see the source of the greatest teacher that the clock tower had ever seen. They came to see the King of Conquerors. Waver placed the cloth in the center of the circle and began the summoning.
Once it was finished the room was enveloped in light that everyone present had to shield there eyes from. When everyone could look their jaws dropped. Standing in the center of the circle was a mountain of a man, standing in bronze and red armor with a red cloak bellowing in the breeze behind him. Waver got down on one knee and bowed, like a knight to his king. The students that were able to bowed with him, the rest still hadn't moved.
Waver looked up at Rider "Thank you for answering my summons, oh great King of Conquerors."
Rider finally moved for the first time. He tilled his head taking a good look at everyone in the room. His gaze finally landed on Waver and he noticed the command seals on his hand "So, are you my master?" he asked Waver.
Waver stood and nodded. Outwardly he prided himself that he was keeping his cool, but on the inside he was so close to crying in happiness for seeing his best friend again.
"Yes, King of Conquerors. My name is-"
"Who is everyone else around here then boy?"
Waver felt his left eye twitch slightly but he kept it under control "These are my students."
"Students? You're a teacher?"
"Of sorts."
"EXCELLENT!" Rider exclaimed, he pointed to one of the students and grinned "You there boy, can you get me a ma-."
"Bring it forward." Waver interrupted.
One of the maids came up to Waver and handed him a world atlas. He took it and opened to the world page "Your old territories are located here, a small area I'll admit but your territory will grow. Currently we are located here, England, we will be going here, the other side of the round land. The place were the war shall begin, and with it your conquest."
Rider looked at Waver with the most shocked expression that Waver had ever seen him. Waver smiled and Rider lean down to get a good look at him "If you were shorter and a little winier you would remind me of someone. Do I know you boy?"
Waver nodded "Yes, its been a long time but I-."
"Lets test that." Rider said putting his hand in a flicking geasture.
"What?"
Before Waver could object Rider flicked him on the forehead making do a flip midair and skip twice before coming to a stop. Rider laughed and beamed "I didn't think it was possible but its true. It really is you boy! Good to see you, and you got some height. EXCELLENT!"
Waver groaned and rubbed his head "Its good to see you to Rider."

Re: Fate/alter chasm
Aaron Gate stood in the study of his family mansion. He had just returned from his training overseas along with his best friend Silver. As soon as he got home he greeted his little sister Alice before talking with his parents. It hadn't been a nice conversation, and it had ended with Aaron putting two bullets in his father's head and a warning shot next to his mothers.
"Leave, or the next shot is between your eyes."
Needless to say, she left the house in quite a hurry. Silver appeared in the room with Alice by his side. He looked over the body and his only comment was "Two bullets? You wasted the perfectly good ammo that I made for you?"
"The second shot was for a need to let out some steam." Aaron explained putting down his modified assault riffle "In any case it doesn't really matter."
"Yeah," Silver said scratching the back of his head "You just shot your dad in front of your sister. No biggy."
Aaron looked at Alice and his sisters eyes were focused on the body of Andros Gate. She held up her hand, muttered a few words and instantly the body ignited in a ball of prana blue fire. The three present watched the body burn until there was only ash left. Silver let out a nervous whistle "Remind me to never piss of your sister."
"Noted." Aaron said dryly.
He pulled up a seat from the table and sat down, Alice and Silver joined him soon after. Aaron glanced at Silver and his friend pulled up a attache suitcase. He handed the case to Aaron and he opened it to see what was inside. Inside a shattered tip of some beast's tusk, discolored by age and blood. Along side it was a chip of stone, carved loose from its resting place by the strike of a weapon. Aaron looked up from the case "Are you sure these are the catalysts?"
Silver nodded "These were the best I could get my hands on. Going around the world to find a piece of Hercules's sword isn't the easiest thing to do you know. All of the best relics are locked in a safe that we don't have time to brake into, we could but by the time that we do all of the appropriate classes would probably be filled already. As such, I got the best relics that give you the best chance for a compatibility summon."
Aaron closed the case and stood up "Thanks Silver, I owe you another one. Alice is the circle ready?"
Alice nodded "It's on the roof."
Aaron nodded and wordlessly went to the roof. When he got there he found a perfect summoning circle made from melted silver and iron waiting for him. He approached the circle and took out the chip of stone from the suitcase. He placed the stone in the center of the circle before stepping outside. Aaron held out his hand that bared his command seals.
He glanced over to Silver and Alice. Silver gave him a thumbs up while pulling out a video recorder while Alice just smiled. Aaron smiled back before chanting the aria and finishing the summoning. When he finished the circle erupted in a flash of light and Aaron strained himself to see the figure that he had summoned.

"I got a strange tapestry. i'm going to summon my servant and your going to like it. so suck it cuisine" Heroin said having left from his meeting with his brother and having run into his depressed younger cuisine.
Drake however began his summoning thankful for the church but more to himself. There were then a bunch of flashing lights as the summing was complete. Unfortunately Drake looked directly at the flashing lights.
The smoke cleared and there stood
"I am sabor ar you my master." Seven feet tall if he was an inch, Servant Saber was built like a prizefighter. Padded leather armor studded with metal and scale-mail covered him from head to toe, and twin swords were strapped perpendicularly to his back. He had a head of unruly brown hair, with a goatee to match.
Drake rubbing his eyes "WHOSE THERE?" Drake shouted stumbling sling around in circle until he completely turned around. Drake blinked as he focused on saber "sorry I don't know whats going on but i believe the answer would be yes?"
Sabor sighed "Your not the sharpest tool in the shed are you?"
Drake scoffed at him"Says the super villain."
"Excuse me?" Saber blinked.
Drake scoffed again. "And you think i'm dense."
"I know I'm no scholar, but in what way am I a king a super villain?"
"The stupidly evil bad ass goatee."
"I'm evil because your jealous of my beard?"
"I didn't say that" drake said scratching his own beard before quickly stoping.
"Right."
Drake growled walking away to the fridge and getting a beer. Saber perked.
"What you want a beer?"
"If your.." saber began before bing interrupted by drake.
"Here. but only if your easier to deal with when your drunk." drake said tossing him a beer. and sitting down on the couch. Saber joined him and the two drank in silence.

Takeshi’s Servant was...not exactly what he’d expected, especially given his arrowhead catalyst. The woman standing in the circle had a bow, sure, but it was in her hair, not the kind you used to kill people with.Maybe. She was breathtakingly beautiful, however, with hair the rose color of the sky at sunset, bound with the aforementioned bow in a long ponytail that fell to her waist and glittering gold eyes. Her clothing was a deep purple, and appeared to be a traditional style Japanese robe....well, quite a bit more revealing than history books depicted them anyway. But easily her most striking feature was her bushy fox tail and the matching ears atop her head.
Right. Definitely not the samurai he’d meant to summon, then.
Before he could think of something to say his Servant took the initiative. “No need to worry, Master! With me as your new bride, the Grail is as good as ours!”
...did she just say bride?
New York City, Fifth Avenue
As the mist cleared, Aaron saw the Servant he had summoned. She was a woman, but definitely a warrior in life - the armor gave that away, even if it was a bit...odd. It looked as though it wasn’t exactly forged for her, but was reworked and pieced back together, which gave it a cluttered, angular look that didn’t afford as much protection as it might have but added a lot of intimidating sharp edges. Under that, rather than chainmail, his Servant opted to wear what appeared to be clothing in black and dark green, of the sort that was probably commonplace in her time and didn’t leave a lot of exposed skin. Her hair was long, dark blonde and fairly leonine, kept out of her face by virtue of it being pulled into a rough braid on one side, and her eyes were gray and hard as steel. Interestingly, she didn’t appear to be holding any sort of weapon, her arms folded as she glared at him.
Wait, glared at him? What did he do?
“You dare to call yourself my Master?” she sneered.
Fuyuki City, Einzbern Castle
The summoning complete, Gereon got his first glimpse of his new Servant and was abruptly informed that his new homunculus body had hormones and lots of them. She was extremely pretty, with long, straight silver hair, black eyes. and an elegant dress that looked to be woven from silk. No weapons of any sort, so she was either a Caster or...
Master’s clairvoyance kicked in. Assassin.
Dammit, why did they even put that class in in the first place!?

Gereon hummed with hormones. He opened his mouth multiple times trying to find something intelligent to say that didn't invade his pants. He slowly pulled himself together bowing respectfully. "Yes flag aline. It's a pleasure. I am heroin van Einzbern, and i request to know the name of the lovely lady."

Re: Fate/alter chasm
Silver looked over the servant before he hit the stopper on his stop watch "Wow, half a second of knowing you and you already pissed her off. Damn Aaron that's a new record for you." he joked.
Aaron ignored his friend and looked over the servant and his master clairvoyance kicked in: Berserker.
Aaron thought through the implications of the class. He could work with this, but it would probably end with him having several broken bones or dead. But that could be thought out later. He showed Berserker his command seals "I do call myself your master. The grail has brought us together for this war, my name is Aaron Gate. Who, might I ask are you?"
As he asked the question he kept his mana in a constant state of occurrence so that he could activate his command seals in a instant should they be needed.

Assassin looked over her master before answering "My name is Arachne."

As the dust cleared Bazett squinted through the dust to see her servant. She finally was able to see through the dust and but then she looked up. And up. And up. And up. Holy shit that is tall. His skin was pitch black and decorating it was lines of pure gold. He worn nothing but a royal lone cloth and a gold necklace that hung loosely from his neck. The last defining thing about his person that he stood at least 14 feet tall and was muscled beyond anything that should've been humanly possible. He looked down at Bazett and nearly had to arch his back just to be able to accomplish this action "I am the servant Berserker, who are you?"
From Berserker's tone, Bazett could feel scorn and disappointment but also curiosity, the kind of someone looking at a new item of food.

Re: Fate/alter chasm
Takeshi's Servant - according to Master's clairvoyance, she was a Caster - froze, for just a moment, her smile faltering. "Umm...I'd rather not tell you that just yet, if it's alright, Master." She looked around, ears twitching and swiveling to pick up sounds. Not just for show, then. "Someone might be listening in. Where are we?"
Berserker snorted. "Well, I'm not your 'Servant' for starters. You can't even supply me with mana properly, how good could you possibly be in a fight? You'd just fall over dead if anyone so much as looked at you, and you'd take me with you."
Someone certainly got up on the wrong side of the Holy Grail, then.
"Caster!"
"Hm? What?"
"For the fourth time, what are you doing?!"
"What does it look like I'm doing?"
"Like you're taking the mess this room has turned into and making it worse." Rin Tohsaka, last heir of her House, was not having a good night. First, she'd managed to botch her summoning ritual, resulting in this...intolerable Caster-class Servant rather than the Saber she would have gotten. Then, he'd outright refused to give his identity as anything other than Rory Williams. She went to her family's library to find out just who the hell that was, and by the time she'd figured out that the name was just some random invention...this happened.
The room where she'd summoned Caster had been thrown into disarray by the backlash of his failed summoning, furniture knocked askew, sheets of paper strewn across the floor, at least one table reduced to rubble. And here he was shoving it all out to the sides of the room, making it look even worse. Somehow. And on the floor....he'd drawn a summoning circle?
"No. First of all the mess was your fault, don't blame me for that. Second of all, I'm preparing to summon my Servant, obviously. You drew one of these like two hours ago, how the hell don't you recognize it?"
Rin took a moment to NOT indulge in a fantasy involving Caster and graphic violence, then asked, through clenched teeth, "I know what it is, but you can't summon a Servant. The Grail War doesn't work that way."
"Says you." Caster snapped his fingers and the circle he'd drawn - no, carved into the floor, of course, why draw it when that can be washed off later - exploded into azure light and mist as he casually broke the rules of the War, easily as though tearing a sheet of paper.

Aaron frowned "Not my servant? Then who is you master if not me?"
"Two sentences by the way Aaron." Silver said from the sidelines "You're braking records like they were paper. Keep it up and we'll fill up the world record book by tea time."

Berserker raised an eyebrow "You stand before me, but you do not know who I am? Pah, it appears that I have gained an impudent master."

In a dark corner of the universe there exists a place. A place that cannot be seen, weather it be through the eyes of man, machine or god. This place is one that has existed since the dawn of time, a place where the greatest warriors, tyrants, Kings and conquerors call their final resting place.
The Throne of Heroes.
Those that come here represent the greatest of their kind. Those that live, will lived or ever had lived call this place home. Of course, to every rule there is always an exception. In the grand existence of the world, there are certain individuals who don't deserve to come to the throne, but they make a deal. They give themselves over to the earth, and they live the rest of their existence as Guardians of the World.
And so, one particular Guardian "Sits" in his place in the throne, waiting for his chance to return. He was the newest of the guardians and as far as the world was concerned,it only needed this one. His name was Counter Guardian Emiya and he was waiting for the time that he could return to the Fifth Holy Grail war. Ever since his defeat at the hands of Berserker Hercules in his last chance in the war he had been patiently waiting for another chance. He knew he was going back soon, the throne was reacting to summoning on a massive scale so more then likely he was going back.
EMIYA had spent the better half of a century thinking over his plans, operations to take on and defeat all of the servants in the fifth war. Operation Lancer and Caster remained relatively unchanged throughout all of his planning. A single broken Phantasm to Caster's fortress and she would be done and Lancer will fall when Kerei has no more use for him. Operation Hercules and Gilgamesh were relatively the same as well. He just needed to throw enough Phantasms at Hercules to chip away at his lives until Illya decided that they need a new way of fighting. Gilgamesh, well, he just had to keep the blond prick distracted so that he didn't bring out Ea, easier then one would think actually.
Operations Assassin and Arturia were the most concerning. Both of them far outclassed him in sword skill, no matter how much he hated to admit it. He would need to engage Arturia in psychological warfare to weaken her resolve before, for lack of a better term, nuking his old house. Taking out both Saber and his annoying self at the same time.
Just as he was about to look over his plans for the thousandth time he felt a familiar glow surround him. It was a summoning he knew that much, but it was flawed. EMIYA smirked, it seemed that no matter the timeline Rin couldn't summon correctly to save her life. EMIYA closed his eyes and let the glow take him away. The next thing he knew he was being put inside a shell that was labeled Archer.
He felt a crash and knew instantly from the smell of burning wood and prana residue he was in the world again. He opened his eyes, Rin should be in th--

"Nice to see you too." Caster said, looking over his Servant's parameters. They...weren't very good, to put it mildly. "So...who the hell are you exactly? The list of people who can recognize me is not very long and none of them look anything like you, so let's have an explanation."

"We are in the middle of Fuyuki Japan." Takeshi answers.

"I take orders from no one." Berserker said simply...apparently she was actively trying to get Aaron to blow a Command Seal already, or she was just that impossibly obstinate.
"Ooooh. That wasn't around when I was alive...Kinda dirty though." Caster prodded a piece of litter with her toe, looking bemused. "Is it all like this?"

Re: Fate/alter chasm
"No, this is just an alleyway, can't go around summoning mystic beings on the street. I believe we should first find a base of operations." Takeshi says, reaching into his duster pocket and pulling out a water pistol, spraying a continuous stream of water on the chalk circle, causing the markings to disappear.

"Well you do now." Aaron said to Berserker.
He turned to Silver and Alice "Get everything ready, we're heading out."
***
Berserker glared down at his master killing intent literally coming off him in waves.

EMYIA thought through the implications of seeing the man in front of him. He only had a guess but if it was who he thought, then he could kiss all of his wishes goodbye right here and now. Outwardly he shrugged "Its not that I recognize you, its just that I sit here, summoned as the servant to another servant. I was generally expecting a human master, like that one over there." he said pointing at Rin.

Re: Fate/alter chasm
"Of course! Lead the way, husband of mine!" Caster chirped, looking expectantly to Takeshi for directions.
Berserker snorted again, shaking her head. It was evident she didn't think much of Aaron or his orders. "I need a weapon."
The human Master in question realized she'd been staring, slack-jawed, at the casual disregard for the Grail War's mechanics standing before her in sheer disbelief and quickly composed herself. Her Master's Clairvoyance indicated this Servant was an Archer.
Before she could respond, though, Caster was talking. He did a lot of that. "Hm. And yet you reacted so strongly to me. 'Oh fuck not you' doesn't really mesh very well with that explanation." Mentally, Caster - true name Merlin Ambrosius - was running through any possible identities for his new Archer. The simple fact that he'd been recognized on sight in his true form narrowed things down considerably. And since Merlin had no idea who this guy was, that meant he was someone who had heard a first-hand account of Merlin's appearance, such as from Arturia. "Seems you and I have a friend in common, at least, Archer."

"Yeah, sure." Takeshi leads his servant out of the alleyway, hoping that any passersby would just assume two cosplayers were just walking around the city.

Re: Fate/alter chasm
Aaron put out his own sigh "Would you like a sword? A bow?" he asked.
***
Assassin smiled, a smile one associated with a predator about to feed on their pray.
"I am the first and only one to live who has truly earned the tittle of weaver. Even the fates hold nothing to my skill."
***
Archer shrugged "Ok you got me, yeah I heard about you. I heard it from a trusted friend, he was an interesting one."
Archer got up and looked over Caster again "So I run on your mana and you run on her mana. I see a problem of us running out soon."
