The Elder Scrolls V.5: Skyrim

Do'krin and his partner were scanning the surroundings for a blacksmith or weaponry to run towards.

Suddenly the Stormcloak from before meets them in front of the keep, eliciting an angry response from Hadvar.

"Ralof, you damn traitor," he snarls, "out of my way!"

"We're escaping Hadvar," he replies, "you're not stopping us this time."

"Fine, I hope that dragon takes you all to Sovngarde!' Hadvar snaps at him, running past.

The Breton kept following Hadvar; Bzothan, on the other hand, went for Ralof's door instead as it was closer.

Valtyr seeing that the big Dark elf went with Ralof he would to, so he follows him into the keep.

Rees follows Hadvar and surprisingly kept his mouth shut to not draw attention. His tail however trips Ralof as he passed by and made Rees chuckle quietly.

Ralof glares at Rees as he gets back up and heads towards the keep. Upon getting inside, he turns to Bzothan and Valtyr.

"It's good to see you two had the sense to come this way," Ralof remarks, looking at Valtyr suspiciousl, before turning to find several dead Stormcloaks. Resolving to mourn them later, offers up their gear to the two elves.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the entrance.

Hadvar walks into the small barracks, cringing as his light burns sear. Turning to the group, he says, "Seems the rest of your group went with Ralof. Can't say I agree with it, but they'll probably live."

He gestures towards a group of chests at the end of a bunch of beds,
"See if you can find some gear, I'm going to look for something for these burns."

Bzothan was silently grateful that one of the dead Stormcloaks was rather beefy; his cuirass fit the Last of the Dwemer rather well, even though it didn't feel particularly like it would stop very much by way of weaponry. The sword was nice, at least; though it was iron, it was Nordic make, and the Nords were good smiths. He gave the weapon a few test swings, slashing at imaginary foes and relishing the feel of a blade in his hand again.

The Breton quietly slipped on the Imperial armor over the tunic she already wore; it wasn't much and it was a little bulky but it was better than nothing, she supposed. The sword was a problem, however. After one or two clumsy swings, she hit a wall and the heavy blade dropped to the ground. "Damn it!" she swore, stooping to pick it up. Damnable cumbersome thing. She resolved, wrestling it into its sheath, not to use it if she didn't have to.

She turned to the Nord she had followed in. "What was your name again? Hadavar, right? How are we going to get out of here?"

Valtyr picked up his sword and armor and put them on he took the sword in his left hand and took a few seconds to get some magic ready in the other "Hope we don't have to fight that Dragon or will be toast" he says to the large dark elf and Nord.

"Indeed. We should find a way out of here while the keep still holds." Bzothan said, sheathing his sword and looking about for a likely exit.

Without warning, a nearby door opens and in walks three Legion soldiers and the Imperial Captain from before.

"So some of you did escape," she growls, before descending into a mad laugh, "It seems you will not escape judgement after all! Kill them!"

The three soldiers rush at Ralof, Bzothan, and Valtyr, swords drawn.

"Hadvar, it's Hadvar," he replies, before holding up a hand, "Did you hear that?"

He turns toward the door leading further into the keep.

"It sounds like a fight."

"Excellent. More idiots to deal with." Bzothan said drily as he ripped his sword from its sheath and swung it in a broad arc at the nearest soldier.

Ilyssa groaned. "Divines, there would be people fighting in here..." And her with a weapon she could hardly lift. Brilliant. Maybe if she stalled long enough the dragon would take care of them for her.

after putting on a set of nordic armor, and equiping a strong Iron sword, Vaninir looked to the source of the fighting. "Finally, a good fight .Lets go."

"Let's not, actually. I'd rather my head stay attached to its shoulders, especially after that incident with the captain." Ilyssa said. The Breton was currently searching the room for any spare septims that might be lying about, justifying it in her head as her needing some money for when she eventually got out of this situation.

"Do'krin wants to fight dragon."

"Shut up and help fight these soldiers, cat!" Bzothan roared.

Valtyr shot a bolt of lighting at the captian hope it would hit following it up with a swing of his sword.

The two kajihts charged at the enemy soldiers, claws extended, ready to tear into whoever was unfortunate enough to get close.

The bolt hits the Imperial Captain square in the face, knocking her helmet off and searing parts of the metal helm onto her head. The shock of hit stuns her, allowing Valtyr to slice into her shoulder. She takes a wild swing at Valtyr with her sword.

The two of the soldiers take a quick step back before the khajiits, taking a swing at them with their swords.

The third soldier fights off Bzothan and Ralof, blocking their strikes one after the other.

In the other part of the keep...

Ilyssa finds a few septims here and there, likely lost from ruined pockets.

Hadvar, meanwhile, has opened a door leading to the rest of the keep.

"We should at least see who is doing the fighting," he remarks.

"agreed, at least we might be able to wager on the victors." says Van, following Hadvar.

Ilyssa bit her lip, still unhappy about the prospect. "I suppose we should..." She followed the others, trying to keep to the shadows. If they provoked whoever it was who was fighting, she wanted to keep out of the way if at all possible.

Bzothan thrust his sword forward, aiming to bury the point in the Imperial's chest.

Rees was barely paying attention because he found a short sword with a sheath and an amazing bag of herbs.

"Hello beautiful." He says under his breath as he identifies a bunch of herbs to heal burns. "Hadvar, I found something to help your burn." Rees says as he spotted some light weight armor with a tunic to identify it as Imperial. "No thank you." He said as he removed the tunic before putting on the armor. When he noticed the Breton moving Rees shut his jaw and followed quietly keeping a clawed hand on the hilt of the short sword.

"Shhh!" Ilyssa hissed at the Argonian as he spoke. Once she saw he was following, she stopped and motioned for him to go ahead of her; the more people between her and whatever sword-wielding brute was on the other end of that noise the better.

As Rees passed the Breton he noticed the better sword on with her he took off his short sword sheath and silently asked for her sword in trade. That's when he noticed the sounds of the fight. "Besides you may want the lighter weapon." He whispered as he watched Hadvar walk towards the noise.

Ilyssa glanced at the weapon she was being offered. Much shorter, much lighter...in general it looked in every way better than the one she had, so far as she could tell. She removed the sheath for her sword and silently handed it over to the Argonian in exchange, noting as she did so that she could actually probably swing the short sword around. At least now she had a better chance.

Rees attached the sheath to his belt and drew the sword. It was longer than the short sword but it felt comfortable to feel the weight of the blade. He smiles and sheaths the sword before following Hadvar.

"Hope its nobody we know." He says under his breath.
