The Elder Scrolls V.5: Skyrim

"We're not going to fight the dragon." Bzothan added, his tone indicating he thought this obvious. "We haven't got any weapons or armor."

"I don't think the armor would help much, just makes you a more visible target." Rees says calmly. "We could always loot the fallen and let their deaths not be in fain." He says without missing a step.

Vaninir walks over to a fallen stormcloack and searches it for weapons.

Unfortunately, the flame of the dragon has melted the weapon of the Stormcloak into slag. The armor has also been melted into her skin, giving the body a fairly horrid scent.

Suddenly, Hadvar throws himself up against the wall, motioning for everyone else to do the same.

Rees slammed against the wall hard enough to almost knock the wind out of himself.

Van does the same, or at least tries to giving his size.

The Breton girl pressed her back to the wall, stifling a scream as the dragon landed atop it, a growl rumbling deep within its belly. Bzothan narrowly missed being decapitated by one of the claws on its wing and fell back a little, cursing.

The dragon lets got a burst of flame, creating a burst of fire just out of view, before flying up into the air. Hadavar looks around the corner and grimaces. Another ashy corpse.

The Breton shivered and looked away. Bzothan went up to the corpse, prodding it with his foot to turn it over and looking for weapons. No good. Damnation.

"I'll give that lizard with wings one thing, it sure knows how to clean up after itself to stay alive. Destroying armor and weapons in one shot." Rees-Haat says with slight irritation in his hissing voice.

"Calling the dragon a lizard...isn't that the pot calling the kettle black?" Bzothan said, annoyed at his continued lack of weapons.

The Breton spoke to Hadvar. "Soldier, where do we go now?!"

Rees turned to Hacvar awaiting his answer to the Breton.

"We all would like to know that." He says to the soldier.

Hadvar cranes his neck, looking over the burning building then starts running around a destroyed building, yelling back to the group,

"General Tullius, over this way!"

The Breton woman looked up, searching for the dragon. The beast was evidently burning some other part of the village, so she raced from cover, following the soldier. Bzothan followed at a more leisurely pace.

"Great, when you find a way to him that doesn't involve that dragon torching us before we meet up with Tullius. Let us know." Rees says as he watches the dragon.

A burning piece of building fall right next to Rees, effectively cutting off the way they came.

Rees yelped in surprise as he moves his tail out from under the impact area of the rubble.

"Well no turning back now. Whats the plan?"

Neither Bzothan nor the Breton bothered to respond to him, both of them pelting across the open area after Hadavar Hadavr Hacvar the Nord guy with the hard-to-spell name.

Valtyr still following his new friends looked around only saw fire and burning houses and every now and then heard a scream.

Bzothan watched the Imperial soldiers shoot arrows and fireballs at the dragon as it soared around overhead...nothing seemed to work. He noted that the dragon's scales almost certainly formed a near-impenetrable armor and resolved that if he ever found himself in the presence of a dead dragon he'd have a look at this.

General Tullius spots the group, yelling at Hadvar,

"Hadvar! Into the keep soldier, we're leaving!"

He waves on, urging Hadvar and the group to go on ahead.

Hadvar runs around the corner, heading towards the keep.

Vaninir follows Hadvar, keeping his eye out for any weapons.

Bzothan looked at the keep with a critical eye. It certainly looked like the toughest structure in the village, a very tough target. That is, against conventional weaponry; a dragon would likely force its way inside easily. Even so, it was the best option they had, so he kept moving and sprinted for the nearest entrance.

"Place looks stable enough."

"Lets go inside"
