A World of Dust and Souls

Sienna nodded. "He is, but I was talking to a literal goddess in...some kind of heaven or something. Not much of a stretch that he'd be there, really."

Team RWBY's reaction was to look at the two of them in utter confusion. The following silence persisted for a few seconds before Ruby tried her best to smile.

"So it's... good that you saw him again, right?"

Yang's own grin seemed to falter for a second, "Yeah, happy to hear that."

Weiss and Blake shared a look, then the heiress coughed into her hand.

"Now that this is... settled."

"I wouldn't use that word," Tyson argued.

"Nevertheless," Wiess said, glaring at the bomber, "This... could have consequences."

"Like what? Are they sick?" Tyson asked the poor man looked ready to blast out of his chair.

"Not like that, they should be fine."

"Not doing anything to boost his confidence Weiss," Yang joked.

Weiss rolled her eyes, "I mean that the last time I heard about people actually talking about speaking with actual goddess', it was a fairy tale... one that doesn't end well."

Sienna sighed and shrugged. "Can you get any more specific than 'it doesn't end well,' maybe?" Part of her thought that using a fairy tale as an indicator of what would happen next was stupid. The rest of her informed that part that she hadn't believed in the existence of gods up until five hours ago, might as well at least hear it.

"A better question would be which fairy tail," Tyson points out, "but that's a good one too," he said before Sienna could comment.

Weiss sighs a little, rubbing her now aching temple.

"It's the Song of the Three Lies. The first is the lie of Order, promising control when there is none to be had. The Second is the Lie of Chaos, it promises freedom while denying you your true desires. And the third, is the lie of Potential, promising a chance to change the world when it's fate has been set in stone long ago. In the beginning, the Three Goddesses would speak their lies to their chosen Avatars, the ones brave enough to eat of the Divine Fruit, and strong enough to pass their trials which are given in opposite order of the three lies. Potential shows us what we would want to have in the future, and questions what we would do to get it. Order forces us to place chains around ourselves, becoming unbending and perfect. Chaos... asks us to give up the ties that we've been given and become free. After they've all passed, it's said that the truth of the world will rise up to face them, and in the end, Remnant would become whole."

Tyson took all of this in and blinked, "That doesn't sound to bad."

"To become whole in the original interpritation means that you die only to be reborn."

Ruby shifted in her seat, "So... the world dies?"

"Essentially."

Tyson blinked again, "... what kind of fairy tales were you read to growing up?"

"It's supposed to be a metaphor for all the challenges that come up in the life of a Huntsmen or Huntress," Weiss explained, "Though, with you two, it's not exactly a metaphor anymore."

"Hang on. How come the story says there were three of them, but there were only two 'divine fruit?'" Sienna said.

Weiss shrugs, "I-I don't know, that's all that I can remember. Maybe it'll come up later, but until then we don't have to worry about the world ending."

"Yeah we just have to worry about Princy dropping a building on us," Yang joked.

Almost everyone winced.

"...I'm going to go back to flying the ship now," Tyson says.

Then the com line started to go off.

"Oh what the hell could this be?" he grumbled.

Picking up the headset, he cleared his throat.

"This is Tyson of team SSNT.... yes... ok... why though?"

A second of silence, then he turns around and glances at Nisha, "You've... got a call?"

Nisha stared at the headset for a solid second before she reaches for it and brought it to her ear, "Hello?"

"Mrs Hyeonmu," came Professor Goodwitch's voice, "We have a visitor at the school. He's claiming to be your brother."

The color drained from her skin upon hearing those words. She let the headset drop to the ground and look at sterling, "My brother is at the school...."

"from how you reacted, that doesn't sound like good news. what's up?"

SHe remained silent staring blankly across from her, "I'm going to the bathroom." She turned and headed to the restroom.

Tyson frowned and put the headset back on. He had a seemingly brief conversation with the teacher on the other line and frowned before turning back to Sterling.

"Nisha has a brother?"

Despite the question not being directed at her, Sienna shrugged. This was the first she'd heard of it.

"I'm just as surprised as you, Nisha never mentioned him."

"Well... either way we're almost back to the city," Tyson said.

True enough, the remainder of the flight was left in silence, one that only lasted a few minutes at most thankfully. An accomplishment with Ruby on board, but miracles can happen. The second they touch down, the sisters all but blasted out of the bullhead.

"Finally, I thought we'd never get back!" Ruby screamed.

"Glad someone can enjoy themselves," Tyson muttered.

"Hey, why so down bomberboy-"

"What kind of name is that?"

"We all made it out," Yang said, giving Tyson a headlock hug.

One that he looked mortified to be in.

"Yang, let him go," Wiess called, "He needs to be somewhere."

Yang blinked before smiling, "Oh, right, gotta introduce the boy toy to the family."

Tyson looked at everyone in abject horror, "No no no! This werid family bullshit is only supposed to happen to Sterling! Leave me out of this!"

"Tough," Yang smiled.

"I DON'T DESERVE THIS!!" Tyson screams, desperately trying to get away from Yang's grip, "I HAVE SO MUCH TO LIVE FOR!!!"

"Why is he screaming?" Weiss asked.

"Do you want to be introduced to anyone who calls Nisha sister?"

Realization flashed over the heiress' face, "Oh, right."

"No offence Nisha," Blake said to her fellow faunus.

Nisha was just staring at the ground. The offense going over her head.

Passing through the many, many checkpoints that Beacon had in store, both teams made it to the main hall. Professor Ozpin and Glynda stood talking to a man, but their conversation was cut off when they noticed the students coming back.

The man they were talking to smiled warmly at their arrival.



"Nisha... it's been a long time."

Nisha stared at the man who claims to be her brother. She smiled broadly, arms out stretched as she ran towards him.
"Big brother!!!"
Just as she was within reach, her right fist clenched and with no hesitation aimed her fist towards his jaw.

sterling leans back and puts his hands behind his head. "for once I agree with Nisha."

"What the hell is he doing here?!" Sienna demanded, before turning to Sterling. "Didn't you kill him? How big was that sword again? Because I feel like it was more than big enough to kill the hell out of him."

Sterling opens his mouth, then closes it. "That's a very good point, one I did not consider." Sterling looks back to Nisha and her brother.

"how the hell did he survive?"

Nisha's blow hit him square on the jaw. The man flew over a surprised Glynda who barely managed to catch him with her semblance while Ozpin took a long sip of his coffee.

"Well... that's one way to reintroduce siblings."

"Professor, he deserved it!" Tyson screamed, "He was at the camp, he was leading the White Fang!"

The joking smirk fell off his lips, and Ozpin looked to the rest of the team for confirmation.

Sienna nodded. "He tried to kill us. Both of our teams."

Sterling nodded in agreement.

Ozpin looks over the students, sending a wary glance at their 'guest'.

"I suppose you have an explanation?"

The man, still rubbing his chin and being let down out of the air by Glynda nods.

"Yes, no doubt the children have run into one of our siblings."

"Excuse you?" Tyson demands, "You can't pull the secret sibling crap on us."

"I don't want to but that's how snake Fanus work," he stops, looking everyone over, "I assume you know how we reproduce."

His gaze stops at Nisha, "Normally."
