The figure spreads his arms out wide "I am a observer. But if you must name me you can call me Shade"

"Perhaps then you could tell me who is behind this whole ordeal?"

"A god"

"Bull$#!@. Melofors!" In Carter's absence, the students hadn't really learned much for offensive spells. At any rate Lil only planned to distract him so she could run and grab Professor McCoy.

The spell in its tracks right in front of Shade. He laughs and the spell fizzles out of reality "So childish. You see here, this is the power of my master. The power of a god, the ability to stop even magic from happening"

"And what piece of Sh*t master sent you from whatever hell you came from, I want a name damnit."

Lil meant to go get McCoy. She really did. But between what Shade had just said to her and what she had remembered he had done - that was it. "Fine. You're immune to magic? Nachash!" She flung a hand up and her black mamba companion flew off of it, fangs bared.

While waiting for an answer, Gene's phone goes off and news reports start to flash on the screen, indicating the destruction of all of the cities Shade had said.

Nachash's attack sailed through the air but Shade simply used his power to turn into black smoke and dodged the attack "Ah, your little friend. As fun as it would be to kill each one of you, I have to go my master is calling. Oh and one last thing, he says that a strike team will be here in. Now"

At that moment a loud crash could be heard fallowed by the screams of students nearby. Shade bows his head "And with that I bid you adu" he turns into smoke again and leaves

"Hold on, they would never send a strike team in here, this place is full of civilians." Genesays, stomping the piece of glass into powder.

"Wait, a Muggle strike team?" Lil asked, gathering a hissing Nachash up from the floor.

Verne tried out his wand to see if the shade had been right about its master's ability to prevent magic was in effect.

"Probabbly S.W.A.T teams would be my guess." Gene says, poking his head out of the door to peer down the hall.

"So how do we deal with them? You're the one who grew up with Muggles."

"True but S.W.A.T are a step down from the military so we can't go head to head with them, they might just be here to round us up though."

Lil tried to keep the fear out of her voice. "So we do...what, exactly?"

"Well we either can listen to them and do what they say and not die, or we can try to get out of here with mixed results."

"They won't...shoot us, right? We're teenagers!"

"Yes we are but we're also wizards, and given the past half hour and what all happened, they won't take too kindly to us teenager or not."

"So we can't let them catch us...We need a broomstick or something. We can escape out the window that way!"

"Thankfully the staff decided to put 3 brooms in my closet when I arrived. " Gene says, walking over to the closet and tossing a broomstick to Lil and Vern.

the brooms were of course magical allowing them to fly out the window

As they flew off, Lil looked down and back at the SWAT team. "Where do we go now?"

The officers in question saw them flying away "They're escaping alert control!"

"What am I supposed to think of everything?" Gene asks.
