Erik's expression hardened. His thoughts were unreadable. "There was a time, Charles, when you would not allow S.H.I.E.L.D. to bully you out of doing what you knew to be right." He walked to the door, stopping only to turn and look at Xavier again. "I officially resign my post as professor."

Cyclops starts running towards the door "PROFESSOR-"

"Let him go Scott" Xavier says sadly "No amount of talking will bring him back"

[Please don't do anything rash Eric] Xavier sent

Wolverine was transported to a newly-constructed prison S.H.I.E.L.D. had had purpose-built for metahumans: The Raft.

Logan was able to see the prison from the transport "Nice place"

"Glad you think so, you'l be there for quite some time."

Erik left the Institute. There was no small amount of grumbling among the students and even some professors who thought he'd been right. The next morning Emma Frost and Raven Darkholme resigned as well, followed by a flurry of student dropouts.

Xavier and Hank stood in a now near vacant hallway "Was I wrong Hank? I didn't want to fight and so many left because of my decision"

"YOu were right professor, we barley survived the fight with the thunderbolts before, imagine that again." Bobby says as he and Chris walk into the hall.

"Thank you Bobby. Your words are kind, but now I fear things will take a turn for the worst"

In the new S.H.E.I.L.D prison code named: The Raft. Logan was transported to maximum security

Banner was asked to do research into gamma weaponry for S.H.I.E.L.D.

hours later, when the remaining students went back to their living quarters, they all found a note saying...

Cyclops finds the note and go to the danger room at Midnight

"Psst!" A pair of glowing yellow eyes blinked at Scott out of the dark. "What are you doing out of bed?" Kurt knew very well but he felt like being falsely accusatory, so he exaggerated his tone quite a bit.

Shadowcat also seemed to be out of bed, phasing through the Danger Room doors.

Scott looked back at Kurt with a rised eye brow "Your here for the same reason I am. So don't start pointing fingers"

Kurt grabbed at his chest and staggered back. "Oh, you wound me, Scott. I wouldn't even think of trying to save Logan." The demonic-looking mutant grinned broadly.

"Well all right then" Scott looked around "Any ideas what we do now?"

"We make a plan." Bobby says from the top central control room through a speaker.

"What sort of plan?" Kitty asked.

Scott looks up at the speaker room "Booby I assume you have an idea of what we are going to do"

Tony Stark, hearing of Banner's imprisonment by S.H.I.E.L.D., tries to figure out a way to raid the H.Q. and get Banner free.

"somewhat, the details aren't worked out yet but that's why I called you al lhere. " says Bobby.

"We are looking into doing a stealthy type mission, slip in, break Logan out, and get out." Chris finishes.

Scott gets a little nervis "Stealth isn't really my strong suit"

The plan kind of fizzled when nobody exactly knew what to do about things in general.

The next day, Kitty made a startling discovery. A HUGE wealth of information had been dumped onto the Internet. It was all S.H.I.E.L.D. information.

It turned out S.H.I.E.L.D. had been massively infiltrated by HYDRA. Well then.

On the other hand, Osborn's Thunderbolts appeared to be mostly reformed criminals. As Kitty enthusiastically pointed out this was a huge PR hit to the Thunderbolts, to say nothing of the technical info on their powers.

Yet over the next couple of days the Thunderbolts seemed to flourish in PR, with the media inundated with images of Songbird, Joystick, Atlas and Citizen V doing battle with HYDRA and Osborn proclaiming that the government had failed them yet again.

Peter Parker who also got a hold of the information (duh it was online) started to wonder what Osborn was going to do now

Scott read through the info kitty got "Wow, that happened. To bad none of this stuff can help us find logan"

"Wait a sec..." Kitty tapped away at the keyboard. "Here. He's in 'the Raft.' Some sort of prison for superhumans, it looks like."

Osborn, meanwhile, had declared that with S.H.I.E.L.D. in ruins thanks to HYDRA, he would be forming a newer and far more effective force primarily designed for policing superhumans: H.A.M.M.E.R., the Homeland Administration of Metahuman and Mutant Empowered Resources. It replaced S.H.I.E.L.D.'s eagle symbol with one of a fist gripping a hammer, which to all appearances looked quite a bit like Mjolnir. The Thunderbolts were set up as the primary response team to deal with large-scale unauthorized superhumans (in the wake of HYDRA's reveal and the devastation it caused for the government, SHARA had been passed incredibly quickly) while Osborn assembled from loyal S.H.I.E.L.D. elements a private army of what the Internet termed "cape busters."

While Osborn did nothing to dissuade use of the name, he felt that something a bit more noble-sounding was needed. He termed the new police-army "The Sentinels."

Scott looks at the computer over kitty's shoulder "Well we still don't have a team to get in there. I can't do much stealth"
