The Return of L4D4

I'm bringing Left 4 Dead 4 back, start applying now.

Basically this will be the first RP on the entire forum to have character applications and approvals, or rather the second one since Return of Sytona did this and promptly never got off the ground.

What to expect:
Zombies, obviously. Flipping metric trucktons of zombies.

Don't expect things to go like the game, either. For one, we'll start at the very beginning of the Infection, with things still relatively normal, and we gradually slide down a slippery slope into zombie-infested civilization-ending apocalypse.

The zombies themselves aren't going to be the same as in the games either, the Special Infected will have logical extensions of their existing powers, et cetera. I'll leave the rest of it hidden for effect but suffice to say your characters have plenty of on-the-job learning to do.

What you'll need:
All the characters in the original Left 4 Dead have had some sort of experience wielding guns: Bill's a Vietnam vet, Louis visited a shooting range frequently, Zoey's dad was a cop and taught her to shoot and Francis is...well, he's a biker, that ought to speak for itself. Not sure about the sequel entirely, but Nick's a career criminal, Coach and Ellis qualify for redneck status and, ah, nobody cares about Rochelle anyway.

Why am I telling you this? First-person shooters have lied to you, folks; one does not simply pick up a gun and know how to use it automatically and perfectly. It's more complicated than point and click. Therefore your character will need some excuse to be handling a gun as well as they are. You don't need to do this, necessarily, but you'd darn well better learn quick if you do, or grab a melee weapon.

Also, it's heavily advisable to have characters that won't get cheesed off and go "screw you guys, I'm outta here." That's just waaaaay too dumb to live, and you CANNOT expect to get away with that. Realistically your characters ought to know they have a near-infinitely better chance of surviving with others than without them, even if they hate those peoples' guts.

Personality; average intellegence, solid morals he shaped from living on a farm all his lif, somewhat easily lead, but loyal as anyone could be.
Skills: rifle training from many hunting trips.
Habits: knuckle cracking when nervous.

Appearance: 6ft, sleek athletic build, blue grey eyes, pale blond hair, wearing a school jacket with the local team's mascot on it as well as the number 81 on the left sleeve, red t-shirt with black under armor hidden beneath, dusty blue jeans with under armor, a black bandana tied to hide face, a mix between hiking shoes/tennis shoes.

Personality: Tends to get into fights when he isn't seen eye to eye yet can swallow his pride if proven wrong, has a way to end fights that aren't his own, can't hurt anybody (that he knows) on purpose.
Skills: Jason has gotten into everything that's competitive including trap shooting, archery, fencing.
Habits: tenses up before getting hit by anything, creep people out by giving them a glare from his nearly grey eyes, draws his sword while he reloads.

Your character ought to be 18 or up for best results. What exactly do you mean by armor?

Maybe he's that weird guy that just wears it for no reason, or he is involved in some ultra-realistic LARPing.

It is just some tight clothing that can easily move in as well as keep warm, and why not have a high schooler in this to shake it up a bit?

Well then I'll have to be really careful.

Realistically an adult is more likely to make level-headed decisions in stressful situations and have knowledge of how to use a gun. It's definitely possible to have a high schooler capable of doing that, but speaking as a high schooler it's very, VERY unlikely. Most of us are morons.

Plus it's immersion-breaking to have a character who sounds like he was designed explicitly for an RPG. If you want combat training you could be in the military, for example.

Or have military family.

No. Can do, Mycro is the supreme ruler and gains all subjects.

I think he was asking if anyone where he lives will join. That's your area, Sagan, make friends and stuff. It's hard but usually worth it.

Took me a while to make friends with Mycro but I can certainly say t was worth it.

Well it doesn't hurt by being too careful. Besides BG, we met before I moved and I don't say your name over the internet. I don't trust people I haven't seen face to face and had time to observe them. To check if they are a threat. Mycro, does it hurt you by being too careful?
