The bullet slammed into the carpet - Roma's movements were making it difficult to fire accurately. Even so, those same movements looked to be slowing. He may not be in much pain, but he appeared to be bleeding out, both acid and blood.

Mathias getting the acid off his head runs upstairs with his glock and fires at Roma.

From the top of the stairs Mathias' first two shots went completely wide. The third shot landed in the back of Roma's skull, creating a neat little hole. However, the other side of his face exploded outward, one of his eyeballs floating in the pool of acid and slowly dissolving. He'd stopped moving, at least, but now there was still the question of why he wasn't like the other zombies they'd seen.

"You killed him..." Gus sounded confused "why would you kill him?"

At any rate, the food stockpiles had been demolished by Roma's acid. They would have to find somewhere else to go, and soon.

"Now look at this. There is next to no food in this house. Perhaps we should find somewhere else to stay."

"The army barracks at charlisle would be nice." James offers

"I am not sleeping at some army barrack" Gus said "I would prefer a hotel or for the sake of money a motel."

"You sir, are a dumb @**" James says before leaving the room

From outside, a low moan can be heard.

Something pounds on a window.

"Is this supposed to be a joke?" Gus asked in response to the low moan "because I find it terrible humor considering that [pointing at Roma] he got shot!"

CRASH! A window shattered, followed by another as the sound of footsteps began to emanate from the ground floor above the group's heads.

"We've got company " Sam says pointing to the stairs and loading his gun.

"Your uncle will not be too happy I'm afraid."

"Assuming we can find where he went. Crazy old man could be anywhere."

"OK, somebody is up there, probably a robber and one of us has a gun. Let us show the intruder to the door shall we?"

"Gladly." Sam says, making his way upstairs.

Gus follows behind Sam.

Gus opens the door leading upstairs "OK, we know you are here. Come with your hands up and no-one will get hurt."

Max reloaded his guns and headed upstairs, passing Gus.

"I'll look around, listen for anything." Max says as he walks around before finding the window. "Found the busted window, haven't seen anything out of the ordinary yet." Max called out.

Whereupon an arm, ash-gray and coated in blood from the wrist down, grabbed him by the shoulder as he turned away to address the others. It hauled him backwards, causing him to drop whatever gun he had in his hand and slamming his head against the doorframe with a shriek. A chorus of inhuman howls rose from outside, followed by the sound of an army of rapidly-approaching footsteps.

"Oh good, company!" Mathias snarked, raising his gun at a window.

"Crud!" Max yelped before hitting the doorframe. He drew his second pistol and shot the arm of whatever was hgolding him as he tried to pull away from it.

The bullet splintered the forearm bone of the Infected, though the thing didn't seem to notice; Max still had a devil of a time pulling out of its grip. When he did, the zombie lunged in through the window, continuing to snarl and grasp at the Survivor even as the broken glass tore its once-expensive suit apart and stained it with blood.

At the same time, numerous other windows around the house shattered as more Infected poured in through the newly-empty frames, snarling and howling as one amid the hailstorm of gunfire.
