The Changed World

Mandarin summons more wind to hurl the heroes out of the NYSE. Living Laser makes his way outside and begins shooting laser at whatever available targets present, including curious reporters. He tries to not hit his goons, but if they do get hit it really doesn't matter to him.

Enchantress shoots a magic bolt toward Bobby.

Bobby throws up a wall of ice, and Captain America deflects the lsaer bolts.

Nightcrawler grabbed ahold of the wall and hunkered down against it, resisting the wind. Shadowcat simply turned intangible. As Cyclops slid back, she grabbed his arm, turning him intangible as well and rendering the wind useless on both of them.

Wolverine (now really pissed off) runs to enchantress and punches her in the face to stop her enchantment

Daredevil jumps up to a skylight and clings to it.

"You are quite brave" Enchantress said to Wolverine "let us see how you fare under mind control."
Enchantress prompts to take over Wolverine's mind.

The Mandarins thumb emits bright light to blind Cyclops and Nightcrawler.

Living Laser shoots his other beam at the wall of ice, slicing it into pieces "can't run forever you know..."

Nightcrawler grunted and shielded his eyes with an arm, momentarily blinded.

Iceman slides up onto the rafters.

Meanwhile Osborn's idea was steamrolling through the S.H.I.E.L.D. hierarchy. He was right; the Avengers were far too uncontrollable, for the various reasons outlined. His team would work far better.

More pressingly, he and the outspoken anti-mutants in Congress were coming ever closer to finalizing the brainchild of Senator Peyton Riordan, of West Virginia. The Superhuman Administration and Registration Act, or SHARA.

Riordan's reasoning was this; S.H.I.E.L.D. had been completely blindsided by the events of the past few years. It only got worse after the Three Invasions, to say nothing of Aldrich Killian kidnapping the American President. People already stirred up over the rising tide of mutants that were cropping up were demanding action, and threatening insurrection.

The government had shown itself powerless in the face of these powerful entities. It didn't know who they were, it didn't know what they could do, and it couldn't fight them. Between SHARA and the Thunderbolts Project, Osborn and Riordan argued that the powers that be could clamp a lid on this before it got too big to handle. There were many opponents, of course; most of the more vocal objectors compared SHARA to the SOPA act that had been stopped before.

But it wasn't the same thing. SHARA was hardly breaking new ground here, merely requiring that individuals with "above-human" abilities or the capability to combat same be registered, as most jurisdictions required one to register a license to own a dangerous gun.

Even as the X-Men, Captain America, Spider-Man and Daredevil confronted three superpowered individuals in the NYSE building, S.H.I.E.L.D. approved the Thunderbolts Project. Osborn looked as though Christmas had come early.

Cap proceeds to put hurt on many more goons, as a helicopter flies over and more goons start dropping from the air.

Wolverine goes into a sort of sleep like trance

"Logan, you all right?" Bobby asks from the rafters.

Logan just stands there staring at enchantress

"Professor?" Shadowcat said hesitantly. "Is something wrong?"

Bobby comes sliding down, holding a bat made of solid ice and swings it at enchantress.

"Batter up!"

Before it could hit enchantress Wolverine uses his claws to slice the bat in two. He then stands there growling at bobby

"Guys, go for the woman, I think she's controlling logan!" Bobby says pointing to enchantress.

BAMF! Nightcrawler threw a punch at Enchantress from behind.

Spidy swings in and starts webbing wolverine "Dude you have tarible taste in costumes and woman. Tough break man"

"Wait, you're that criminal from the papers, right?" Shadowcat said to Spider-Man.

"Spidy finishes webbing wolverine and then goes to join shadow cat and the others "REALLY, DO ALL OF YOU PEOPLE ALL READ THE SAME PAPER. Ask yourself this if I was a criminal way am I trying to stop them"

"Well you're webbing our professor." Bobby puts in.

"He is under the chicks control and was going to attack you. DOES NO ONE APPRECIATE WHAT I DO?" Spidy asks

"He's got a point..." Shadowcat said. She took a step forward and dropped into the floor.

"Well, I do appreciate what you do. Consider this a token of my appreciation" The Mandarin said launching a column of flame straight at Spiderman.

Enchantress gets showed forward by Nightcrawler's attack. She lets go of her mind control of Wolverine. After all she is bound up by Spiderman. So instead now that Nightcrawler was tangible and close she shot a bolt of magic at him.

Living Laser saw his opportunity with the trapped Wolverine. A burst of laser went her direction while Living Lasers other beam focused itself on Bobby.
