The Changed World

The Mandarin sighed. Nobody was going to stop his goons from removing the world's best stockbrokers of the New York Stock Exchange. Oh well, time to blow the NYSE up and find something better to take control of.

Daredevil walks out of the bank. "I guess we're done here then?"

One of the cops told Daredevil about the NYSE.

"I'm on my way." Dare devil says, firing his cane grappling hooko at a building and heading to the NYSE.

Osborn, meanwhile, was speaking to the rest of the S.H.I.E.L.D. higher-ups regarding the Avengers Initiative. So far, it seemed that they were unreliable. Thor came and went as he pleased, Captain America was...well, actually he was relatively alright. Iron Man simply refused to take orders from S.H.I.E.L.D. and apparently nobody had seen the Black Widow for a month or more. And the Hulk was the Hulk. He proposed that an alternative roster be developed, one that would be far more reliable and willing to follow orders. He proposed a name as well. The Thunderbolts.

In addition to giving more superpowered might to S.H.I.E.L.D. in the event of an emergency, they would also be seen by the public as the government stepping up its ability to deal with metahuman threats when the US Army and S.H.I.E.L.D. had proven helpless against first the Chitauri and then the Kryptonians.

Daredevil arrives at the blast site.

Eric, Spidy and Jono enter the institute. They walk through the halls getting strange glances from the students there. The three go to the elevator and travel to the base of appertions and then they walk down to a hallway until they reach a huge metal door.

<Uh...open sesame?>

The Mandarin was about to leave the NYSE and blow it up when he saw Daredevil approaching. The Mandarin reasoned that the stuntman was only going to last two minutes. Perhaps three.

The door then opens and out comes a man in a wheel chair. He turns to three "Ah Eric you've brought us some company I see." He looks at Spidy "Mister Parker you can take off the mask, it is off no use here".

"BUT I LIKE IT"

The man in the wheel chair looks at him skeptically and Spidy takes off his mask. He then turns to Jono

Jono mentally filed away the fact that Spider-Man's last name was Parker. Not that that was overly specific. <My name is, ah, Jonothon Starsmore. You can call me Jono, I guess.> He looked around. <Spider-Man said your school could help me with my...problem?>

"Yes, I can help you. But first I must know what happened to you"

meanwhile, Bobby Drake is walking through the institute, dreadin ghis next class when he hears the door open.

"new people eh? Better say hello." he says, walking to the door where prof X is.

<Uh, I sort of exploded> Jono turned as he heard Bobby coming into the room, inadvertently displaying his lack of a jaw.

"New blood, name's Bobby." Bobby says, extending his hand to the jawless man.

Jono suddenly remembered his lack of a jaw. Odd that Bobby didn't react. <Um...Jono.> he said, shaking Bobby's hand.

"This is Bobby Drake, or Iceman" Xavier says

Bobby shakes Spider man's hand, while at the same time Spidey's glove turns blue and frost gathers on it.

<Iceman?> Jono asked.

Erik chose that moment to speak up. "The Institute is funded in part by the American government. They choose to keep track of people like us, specifically with codenames. Mr. Drake's codename is Iceman."

<Seriously?>

Daredevil is confronted by the Mandarin's goons, guns blazing.

Daredevil doges their bullets, ducking behind a nearby car. he then starts to fire one of the 2 pistols he has at the goons.

Spidy pulls his hand back "OWW COLDCOLDCOLDCOLDCOLDCOLDCOLDCOLDCOLDCOLDCOLDCOLDCOLDCOLDCOLDCOLDCOLDCOLDCOLDCOLDCOLD"

"And that's why they call me iceman." Bobby says, taking a bow.

<Yeah, I figured that. It's just...the name is a bit silly, isn't it?>

"what about Jonno, or spider man?" Bobby says, putting air quotes around spider man.
