Titanium is a real metal, but I could remove this if you think that it shouldn't be discovered yet.

Aside from the fact that titanium would come after aluminum and the mineral in question is bauxite.

Assume that the NPC countries come to any summit unless I specifically state they don't.

The Actual Monthly Report:
[I am not going to report on military and economics because I did that a week ago]

Austro-Italian Empire: The Austro-Italian Empire has been formed, where government is dominated by the German speaking Austrians and the brunt of the population is Italian. While Italians are increasingly holding office, there seems to be a rivalry between the two ethnic groups...

Aztlan: Aztlan has increasingly inched towards a position on the world stage. First it called a conference to protect the native civilizations of the Americas. Recently it went a step further and challenged Spain over its holdings in the Caribbean.

Belgium: Belgium was one of the first nations to recognize the newly born Morocco. Seeing some value over making trade deals with Morocco, the Benelux Trade Union has invited Morocco to join in.

Britain: The British have recently given the Scotts the green light to re-equip its ships with steam power. Naturally a larger army/navy helps sustain the general opinion in Europe that the British are warmongers. In particular, Denmark and the Netherlands seem to be scared of Britain.
In addition to a larger army/navy, Britain has had a recent row of tensions with the Russians. Essentially this turned into a tennis match. Russia raised taxes...Britain sabotaged Russia...Russia stole tech...Britain stole it back...Russia offered protection to Persia...Britain offered protection to Persia if they refused Russia’s offer of Protection. Naturally this happened while the two countries threw threats around.

Cuba: Recently freed by Spain from Spain. Spanish descendants control the government, so the island is still very loyal to Spain.

Denmark: Denmark has been scrutinized over its practice of claiming lands in North America which at the same time were under French and British as well as Russian claims. When called out for this practice, Denmark told the other powers it would not claim any more lands without confirmation from the other claimants (which allowed it to keep the land already claimed). It has called a conference in Copenhagen to discuss how to split the territory (proposal is on the North America map [link on page 1 of roleplay and OOC, please respond].

East Dominica: The Eastern Dominican island is also a former island once under Spain’s control. They too are loyal to Spain, but are also open to the French portion of the island for trade.

France: France has recently invaded Morocco after its government decided that Spanish colonial practices were too bloody. Interestingly enough this is how all European countries tend to treat their native populations. Morocco now sees France as a liberator. French people are happy to see France do something and feel more patriotic at the moment. Voltaire notes that another awesome nation has been created besides Aztlan because it is democratic. Also France now controls the Pope.

Germany: After Poland’s financial crisis, Germany and Austria have basically taken over Poland [quietly] and are claiming on restoring the economy. Of course the Poles are receiving more jobs, but a strong Germanic (Austrian and German) presence can be felt. Germany has also expanded its army, having the best equipped army in Europe. In addition, Germany has started programs to build/convert regular ships into steamships for its navy. Its navy remains behind the other European navies in terms of size.

Iceland: Iceland has converted its navy to have steamships. This gives the ships a definate advantage in terms of speed and maneuverability. Unfortunately when a regular warship comes close, the steamship has a distinct disadvantage.

Iroquois Confederacy: The Iroquois Confederacy has recently tried industrializing, but its inhabitants are not for industrializing. Otherwise, the Confederacy remains pretty isolationist from world affairs. The only contact it really has is the occasional settler who crosses the border and who is returned in fifteen different pieces. Naturally the colonists (particularly British) don’t like it and multiple skirmishes have been fought.

Japan: The Japanese have industrialized to keep up with the other European nations. It doesn’t have much in terms of military, but needless to say, the Japanese are addressing those issues focusing on navy.

Morocco: Morocco is now its own independent state thanks to France who is viewed favorably by Moroccans. Morocco now joins the ranks of the democratic nations (current democratic nations being Aztlan, Germany and Spain) appalled by the iron rule of the Spanish who coincidentally also are democratic. Morocco is focusing on reviving its economy.

Netherlands: The Netherlands haven’t done much. They have however criticized Britain for its warmongering and writers in the Netherlands likewise find France going the same direction. Dutch writers repeatedly predict that there is going to be a massive war with all the warmongering.

Ottoman Empire: The Ottoman Empire has with the British recently researched the steamboat and has subsequently acquired the steamboat. The Ottomans seem to want to form a Muslim oriented alliance with Persia...

Poland: Poland has become a virtual puppet state for Germany and Austria. Germany and Austria found that the Polish economic troubles were a convenient excuse for them to basically take over Poland. The Poles and various East European ethnicities that had suffered the economic downturn are thankful to have their lives slowly being turned back to normalcy.

Portugal: Portugal has recently quit the Continental Alliance in favor of the British led alliance: The LOUN. Portuguese merchants are reaping huge profits from the Brazilian colony and India.

Puerto Rico: Yet another former Caribbean island owned by Spain. Also very loyal to the Spanish crown.

Qing Empire [China]: The Qing Empire is building up its armies in the exasperating hope to repel some form of European control. Otherwise the European powers have taken the most important cities for themselves leaving the Chinese with boundless desert.
Russia: *See the tennis match under Britain’s update (second paragraph). While Russia has had trouble diplomatically with Britain, it has kept on the path of progress. The Industrialization process of Russia has ensured that a good amount of unemployment got reduced. There is still high unemployment in Russia, but its citizens are optimistic that it will soon change for the better.

Safavid Empire [Persia]: Persia is probably one of the only countries that hasn’t actively sought to industrialize. This backwards country has recently been the contention between Russia and Britain. Knowing one power will protect it from the other Persia turns back to internal affairs and once again ignores the world.

Scandinavia: Scandinavia broke the treaty it signed with Britain [going unnoticed] by building up its army and navy again. While the Scandinavians are mad at Britain and Germany for causing its “proper place amongst the global powers” to be put in jeopardy. Scandinavia does have two new allies however: Denmark and Russia (with whom it signed a defensive pact).

Small Former Spanish Islands: Well, they continue to grow sugar. Not much to it...

Spain: Spain was recently in a war with France. This caused Spanish citizens holding office of French descent to be fired and jailed. Spain is angry over its loss of Morocco, but decides that it has to continue industrializing, building an army and navy to keep up with the world.

Switzerland: Still neutral...

Depends on if you have a permanent spy structure in that country or not...

may I get a report on the structure of any Portuguese spies in any countries?
