"Here is a map" Gus handed a map of Philadelphia to Sam "As for me, I think that I'll actually take my car."

"Great. In fact, you can take us with you." Roma's tone and the way he carried his gun stated that "no" was not a valid response to this assertion. The man visibly knew what he was doing (he was, after all, a gun store owner) and it likely would not be wise to test his patience. "The sooner we get out of this, for lack of a better word, infestation, the better. From there we can let the authorities take care of the situation; no sense getting involved beyond what we've already done."

"Okay my uncle has a safe house about ten miles out of town he is a bit of a end of the world nut I think that where we should go"

"Great! I should have expected that. Americans always take what they want with guns." Gus said "I'll drop you off at your Uncle's house and then I am leaving for the only sensible place on this continent: Canada."

"Well we can't really reason with the darn things now can we?"

Gus walked out of the store not waiting to see if the group followed.

Max waited beside Gus after grabbing ammo and reloading his three guns.

"Come on" Gus said impatiently "I don't have all day and I don't want to run into another mob."

"I'll grab my bike." Max said as he went inside and rode out on his bike wearing his helmet.

"Ill get my truck." says Sam going over to his pick up and tossing the gun in the back.

"All of us should try and carry a bag of ammo with them, just to be on the safe side or ride in a group." Max yells through his helmet.

"Taken vare of." Sams says while chucking a duffle bag of ammo into the back.

Roma jumped into the passenger side of Sam's truck. For all his talk directed at Gus, he'd decided that if he didn't have to get involved with the crazy Canuck he wouldn't. "Everybody ready to head out?"

"Let's do it." Says Sam starting up the truck and heading yo the station.

"Let's ride!" Max shouts to the group as he revs up his engine.

Mathias not wanting to be left behind ran for his car with a back pack of food, water, and ammo. "Lets go"

Sam takes the lead to get to the station.

Gus was in his car, driving behind the group. He was considering leaving, considering no one was in the car with him.

After grabbing a police radio from the police car before rocketing past Gus to ride in the middle of the group.

Gus suddenly turned away from the other cars in the direction of the highway.

"Where's he going?" sam mutters to himself, seeing Gus heading for the highway.

Good. The gunwielding crazies didn't care if he left, Gus smiled as he was heading to the highway.

Gus' path was soon blocked by what appeared to be a semi truck, bowled over onto its side. The truck itself didn't block the whole of the street; the remainder was barred by several police cruisers. One or two police officers could be seen sprawled beside the cruisers. The visible one's face was halfway ripped off, reduced to scraps of skin with a bloody pit where the eye on that side once was, along with a few missing fingers and severe mauling to his arms and hands. The other one was mostly hidden behind a trash can; probably a good thing if the blood that was liberally sprayed ten feet up the wall of the building nearby was any indication.

The miniature convoy didn't quite make it to the police station; as with Gus, they eventually met up with an improvised barricade of police cars with another couple of corpses. Roma looked shocked at first, then the color drained from his face and he crossed himself. "My God..." he whispered. Perhaps the most unnerving feature was the background noise; or rather, the lack thereof. Ordinarily, early afternoon in Philadelphia was abuzz with the sounds of traffic, people, machinery and animals.

Today it was dead silent. No cars rushed by in the distance, nobody said a word other than Roma's terrified few words. No birds called, and perhaps most tellingly, no gunshots or screams sounded, even in the distance. It was as though all traces of human activity other than the suddenly seeming far too small group of survivors had abruptly vanished, leaving them bewildered and horribly, utterly, terribly alone.

Max signaled the convoy to stop before stopping himself and took off his helmet. He pulled out the radio he grabbed and turned it on.

"This is Sargent Max Thorn, is there anyone receiving?" Max asked into the radio and waited for a reply before noticing the others watching him. "Checking if we have to fight our way into the station, and if we have some support from the local law enforcement."

Gus turned around, looking for another road that was unblocked.
