The countries of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania have peacefully been absorbed into the USSR. After a massive riot in the Ukraine, Soviet troops move in to restore order (and the Ukrainian SSR). A division of Red Army troops and tanks is sent to former Yugoslavia to help stop the apparently unending wars there, while Finland, Romania, Bulgaria, Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan consider joining the USSR.

Japan gladly accepts Brazil's offer, now opening a new trade route to and from Brazil. Japan also sends Brazil some of their resources and technology for A. better communication and B. better materials to create buildings for the homeles.

Brazil uses super materials shipped over by Japan to create light-weight prefabricated housing for the poor, which gives them hope and motivates them to join the national workforce, giving Brazil an immediate boost to GNP.

Brazil declares that a certain percentage of the population have to become each profession, thus increasing unhappiness slightly, but overall, this increases efficiency, and because no one is "predetermined" until they say so, few have to change profession and the balance achieved is good.

Brazil uses the advanced comm tech sent by Japan to detect an object in earth orbit that is apparently jamming comms, but they cannot tell what it is. This meshes well with what they know about the recent space boom internationally, and Brazil becomes suspicious.

Brazil also uses the comms sent by Japan to broadcast the Magnificent International Orchestra, or M.I.O. around the world on a digital frequency.

Lastly, Brazil issues a declaration of friendly laughter to the Soviet Union, because the above was intended as a joke, but, as everyone knows, in Soviet Russia, Jokes laugh you Soviets.

Japan chuckles at the joke. They send one joke to the Russians: "In Soviet Russia, you don't play instruments, the intruments play you!" (Tee Hee!)

Japan sends Russia a little apologetic gift for the joke. They send Russia some materials that could be used to make either of the two: a nuclear fission or a eco friendly product that can fill Russia with the greenest grass, the nicest of days and possibly, more jokes.

India apoligizes to the world for its prolonged absence from international politics. It turns out that the entirety of India sat down and played D&D for several weeks spread out over the five months it has been absent from the world. [Taethos, where were you for D&D at the library?]

India increases the rate of its research according to the ridiculous rate that has been set (building a full spaceship in like a month, c'mon Ireland!)


India formally recognises the Brazilian Empire. you have stated your interest to be a part of the glorious technological revolution. You are accepted. Lets just say that your scientists have been researching EMP shielding with India's scientists. If so, the glorious research will be completed in a faster manner. The glorius technical union will not force you to research anything, or attack anybody, as it is a peaceful organisation.

India stays on the Earth for now. It shall let the outher countries deal with space, and then use the technology once it is developed.

The US completes retracting jobs from overseas. The unemployment rate falls to an all time low in the US, bottoming out at .7 percent, while American exports soar to all time highs, surpassing all other countries exports in quantity and quality, except the Irish Whiskey. The US also secretly recalls all Iowa class battleships to a secret Naval facility somewhere in the US. The US also releases news to the international community that the intercepted message turned out to be a reflected sound wave. NASA begins work finding where the wave came from. Work on the panels continues unabated.

[Choosing to ignore the bit about surpassing everyone; like it or not, you can't do squat about how many natural resources you have compared to the USSR. Hence they are outperforming you at exporting oil, if nothing else.]

The USSR reveals details of Project Molniya to their Indian collaborators.

In Europe, political turmoil erupts in the East, with the net result that Soviet troops are now peacekeeping in virtually every country east of France. Only a few geographical borders have changed. Finland has joined the USSR. Yugoslavia is back, and a bloody civil war is being subjected to the overly stereotyped but nonetheless effective Russian Steamroller offensive push. For this, the Soviet Union takes some fire from other countries about unnecessary force, but they shrug it off. Poland now resembles the pre-WWII Poland more than anything, and Germany has regained land ceded to them after the same war. Germany is now also much larger, containing former Czechoslovakia and Austria. Also, the German government has been replaced with a more or less Communist regime (Communist in name only, however) and is receiving raw materials from the USSR in exchange for a political and military alliance and ever superb German engineers and products.

Italy offers a greenhouse on the moon to the Irish so they may make lunar whiskey.

The MIO's next stop is the Nationale Theatre de Paris, France. The music they will play will be............ (you know what to do), Intermezzo Sinfonica, The Nutcracker (the original piece by P. Tchaikovsky), and Le Cygne (swan) by Saint-Saens.

The entire empire of Brazil takes a moment to snigger at the idea of Lunar Whiskey; they wholeheartedly support it, and donate $10,000 to the project, with the promise of 1 million more if the Irish will reveal to the Brazilians, what the dome is, why they're building it, and how Brazil can benefit.

After the much celebrated concert of the MIO at the Nationale Theatre, (in order to avoid an international incident) the Iberian Alliance attacks France, supposedly to fend off the rise in power by the USSR. They won with much difficulty, but not many casualties, and have a about a week to celebrate their victory, before their Brazilian Allies officially rebuke them for their agression and swiftly conquer all three countries in retribution (Porutgal, Spain, and France.)

The Brazilians Officially liberate France and apologize for the Iberian Actions, but France elects to stay under the Brazilian Umbrella, as they were actually getting pretty worried about the Soviets, and were close to declaring the use of nukes. Brazil affirms that the use of Nuclear weapons would be bad for everyone.

Brazil thanks India for entrance in to the technological alliance, and states that they shall work as directed by the Indians, until such time as that research is finished, and then shall formally request to proceed to Medicines from the rain forest, as well as railguns. They formally request access to the technology that has already been acquired, specifically the "nanobotics tech," for the betterment of their people.

Columbian Supreme Coffee becomes a major export to the U.S. from Brazil, and Brazil's economy is almost on par with the American and Soviet economies, even considering the much larger population.

With that, Brazil takes a minute to catch its breath and contemplate its next moves.

With help from Soviet industry, Germany quickly begins turning out superbly engineered products for both exports and for the Soviet military machine. Massive overhauls are conducted to re-fit the Red Army, Navy, and Air Force with newly upgraded equipment, while the Germans assemble a formidable military of their own.

The Soviets permit German help in their joint-venture projects with India, spurring the projects along faster. Soviet battleships are now in dry-dock pending completion of their new equipment. With help from the Germans (who know things about American equipment, given the number of US troops stationed in West Germany during the Cold War) they begin development of stealth fighters and bombers and fighter-bombers.

The USSR creates the International Communist Coalition, a loosely allied group of Communist states that basically mirrors NATO. Again. Current member countries are the Soviet Union, China, Korea, Cuba, Germany, Romania, Yugoslavia, Poland, Bulgaria, and Hungary.

The Soviets again deny the Brazilian request to (in their view) potentially dangerous tech and push for the Indians to back them up. Shipments from India are heading for Vladovostok.

Britain stops all fighting with Ireland, but have planes patrolling the skies of London and other major cities. They give Ireland Northern Ireland. And they also apologize for the bombings of Ireland.

To make sure Ireland or anyone won't bomb them again, they set up anti air-craft turrets.

The Brazilians assert that it is India's right to share technology as it pleases, being that the alliance is peaceful, non-invasive, and India was the founding country. Brazil waits patiently for India's response.

Brazil now founds its small moon city.

Brazil threatens to embarass Germany by producing evidence of World War II criminals who escaped to South America. West Germany spontaneously rebels and joins Brazil, while East Germany is outraged and becomes more steadfastly Communist.

Brazil requests that the MIO next play "Hall of the Mountain King", as part of a Holiday Tour.

Brazil takes the Rock of Gibraltar, which was abandoned during the Anglo-Irish War

The rebellion is brutally smashed by the Communist German government, with heavy assistance from the Soviet war machine. When the Germans take fire from this, they claim they don't want to divide their country sectionally again, after the Cold War. The Soviet Union is silent on the issue, pondering. Joint Soviet and German police activity is heavy in Western Germany, but the usual atrocities and purges that accompanied such acts back in the 1900s are curiously absent (largely because Sarov knows what he's doing and the German dictator knows Sarov can smash him easily.)

Brazilians highlight the atrocities that do occur, and defend the West Germans' right to freedom and democracy (within their empire), and move troops and airforce in to West Germany, calling on the Soviets to aid them in persuading the Germans. Notably, the Brazilians produce the leader of the German rebellion, who was spirited away in the nick of time by the Brazilian secret service. He runs for govenor of west germany, and is emphatically backed by the Brazilian Government. The West Germans love him, and he wins.

Brazil supports the ICC and offers 1 billion dollars in funds for making the communist dream a reality, contingent on Democracy within the ICC countries.

The Soviets uphold the existing German regime. Both they and the Democratic Republic of Germany reject the results of the election, as it was not held by the existing government (Germany is actually holding elections, unlike most of the militant ICC). The DRG publishes a series of papers on the benefits of their current alliance with the Soviet Union and issues them to the German population as a whole, which leads to more support for their regime. Further propaganda turns much public opinion against the West German Rebellion, and some leaders (not the big guy himself) are executed after a reasonably fair trial, for a Communist system. After this, the Werhmacht barricades Brazilian and French forces from the German nation and the DRG, now once more supported by its people, demands the immediate demobilization of the forces on their borders.

They state that if their demands are not met they will not hesitate to enforce their borders by any means necessary. The USSR backs them up, alongside the People's Republic of China. Cuba, Korea, and the other smaller states are on board almost by default.

First The rebels issue Gesunder Menschenverstand, which counters the Communist propaganda, as well as pointing out the obvious benfits of a relationship with Brazil and America

Second, its not that easy to get rid of the Brazilians (There were no French troops. Who would seriously bring them to a war that we want to win?)

Third, the election occured within the population, so that legitimizes it.

Finally, the Brazilian forces within West Germany remain active, and all the forces on the border demobilize, as per demands.

The US declares neutrality in the ongoing conflicts, while it again prepares for another arms race, while the Iowa class battleships reappear in the fleets. The US hit the drawing boards and begin designing super-weapons. The US also thanks the MIO for it's selection of playing in the US and wishes the Orchestra well. The US launch several more large objects into space with a much improved defensive setup. Equipped with the advanced solar panels, these objects are exponentially more efficient then the original. while the exact number of and what these objects are remain classified, the US begins development on another secret project that will guarantee the safety of billions of people in the event of a nuclear Armageddon. Carriers and planes with crew begin rolling out of American dry-docks to counter the sudden increase in production of naval units from the USSR.

Ireland begins to make a series of web videos about the arms race. It is full of subliminal messaging, causing an increase in Whisky Sales.

Ireland also Launches a vast amount of Building materials to their Space Station. The Construction of the Prometheus.

The DRG and USSR continue to hold their position. The DRG gives the Brazilian troops a deadline of one week to withdraw from the country completely. Soviet naval forces position themselves strategically between Europe and Brazil.

The US begin preparing for a naval battle by transferring the Iowa, Missouri, and ships of the respective task forces to TF 38, still stationed off the British coast. The US also floods the USSR tv and comms networks with unpleasant images about the Scout's mom and other images/videoes like it.
