The Crossroads

Meanwhile, Songbird and Cinder had arrived in what appeared to be an abandoned power plant, waiting for Radioactive Man to join them.

meanwhile back with Iron Man,

"I've figured out how to track radioactive man giving he is radioactive."

"He's apparently at a power plant."

"so are we going to just float here like NPC's or are we going to go find them?"

Batman, Spiderman and Robin head for the power plant. Batman calls Alfred (who will act as Batman's Oracle) "Battorney (Alfred's superhero name), do you have any useful information on the Power Plant. Perhaps a few camera shots..."

(Gah... this forum is becoming so Active... making me check up on it more often.)

"The Green lantern will be taking him to the proper authorities. I assume." Alice Says. "I will be go with you to monitor your progress and send it back to the Guardians for further study."

Radioactive Man has arrived at the power plant. "Where's Nigma? They'll be tracking that trail I left them for a while but it won't hold them off for long."

Radioactive Man has a nullifying harness that blocks his radiation for the most part...i.e. he doesn't actually leave a trail, except for the fact that he deliberately left a false one. Just thought I'd mention that.

"Answer: I'm right here." The Riddler strode out of the shadows. "Now come along, children. We've got someplace to be..."

A few minutes later the plant was entirely unoccupied.

Intriguing...

Right after they leave, a small green mouse scurries out from a corner, then the small green mouse turns into a normal-sized green human. Beast boy, having been there the entire time, morphed into an eagle and flew back to where he last knew Robin was.

Beast Boy presumably had discovered that a strange figure had appeared and taken the party underground...

he perches on a rooftop and morphs back to human, and calls Robin on his com. "Don't bother going to the plant, they left with a man who took them underground."

Beast Boy morphs into an owl, hoping to blend into the shadows and follows the villians as silently as possible.

Robin notifies the rest of his party and any other hero who will listen. "Good luck following 'em"

Beast Boy does his best to silently pursue the villains silently changing from an owl to a mouse when they go underground, he waits for a few seconds then morphs back human and calls Robin and Nightwing. "They are underground in the sewers, transmitting location now."

Suddenly, a mechanical arm terminating in a three-clawed talon slams Beast Boy into the wall, pinning him. "What have we here? You must be new." The arm, or perhaps tentacle would be a better word, appears to extend from the back of a slightly squat man wearing sunglasses. Seven more of these arms also sprout from the man.

"What are you, some kind of octopus?" Beast boy says before he morphis into an octopus and slithers down the claw onto the tentacled man's head.

Doctor Octopus grabbed Beast Boy's head in another claw and flung him away. "Doctor Octopus, to you. You're short on friends at the moment...I suggest you surrender." As he said this, Songbird, Cinder and Radioactive Man ran up behind him, each of them ready to fight. Riddler looked vaguely amused, leaning on his cane behind the lines.

Beast Boy hits the wall with an unsettling THUD and when he hits the floor, the distress button on his communicator was pressed and is now sending a call for help to his comrades.

"Tsk." Doc Ock picked up the beeping communicator in a claw. "A good idea, but it won't work under here. These tunnels are designed to prevent unwanted signals from going in or out." He squeezed the communicator gently and it deformed and smashed in his grip, then dropped the wreckage on the floor as its beeping faded.

Songbird held out a hand and a glowing pink guillotine formed around Beast Boy's neck.

Riddler walked forward slowly. He got to within ten feet of the group before speaking.

"Kill him."

Songbird obligingly sent the guillotine blade hurtling downwards...

Beast boy snaps awake and turns into a snake right before the guillotine makes contact with his neck, he slithers out of it and up through a pipe leading to the surface.
"SSSSSSuckers." He hisses

Flash was near a pipe where a distress signal was getting through but it went dead a minute ago. He was about to call the rest of the team when he heard something coming from the pipe.

Beast Boy slithers up the pipe and is weak from the fight, he gets out of the pipe completley, morphs human, and passes out.

"Leave him. We must move quickly or they'll soon know our location..."

Before too long had passed, the villains were outside Gotham city limits entirely.

Meanwhile, in New York, a bizarre occurance was taking place. It seemed that some core members of the Justice League, including Batman, Flash and Green Lantern (who were in Gotham, or so 'twas believed) were laying siege to Avengers Tower. Meanwhile in Bludhaven Iron Man had smashed into Titans Tower East and was attempting to, apparently, raze the structure to the ground.

Whatever could be going on?

[By the way, these are NOT the actual Batman, Lantern (any of them), Flash or Iron Man. You still control your characters and they are still in Gotham, just in case you haven't figured it out.]

Iron man tries to destroy the foundation of the tower with some repulsor blasts.

Iron Man is still in Gotham, Blind. The one attacking Titans Tower East is NOT the real one.

"Sir I would advise you look at this news report." Jarvis says as a small rectangle with a newsreel documenting the bizarre attacks in New York, and Bludhaven.

"what the hell?" Iron man asks himself.

Flash kneels at Beast Boy's side then shakes the sleeping figure lightly.

"Hey kid you alright?" Flash asks as he looks at the pipe where this boy slithered out of while in snake form. "You have a lot of explaining to do."
