Paradigm Shift: Monolith of the Rebellion

"Well, I need to build the nanobots first. Right now pretty much everything is dedicated to my big project I've been working on for more than a month now."

London raised an eyebrow "Something big?"

She nodded. "It's why I've been using Leet's scanner all the time - even though its controls are entirely on a smartphone app, which is stupid, by the way. My plan is to replace every cell in my body with specialized nanotech."

London's eyes widened "You can do that? Because if you can that's... amazing."

"You don't know the half of it. By doing that I can do anything the human body can do at least ten times as well, up to and including mental processing. Since my entire body will be one giant nanotech hive and computer system, I'll be able to produce nanobots myself out of the same raw materials a normal human would use for food. Not to mention I can reshape parts of my body into whatever I want at will like that robot from Terminator."

"That makes you one of the most powerful Tinkers in the world."

London scratches his chin "That is quite the endeavor, but it does give me some ideas. Once you were finished, could you put nanobots into my armor that can reshape themselves into a weapon? Then with my powers, I can make them nearly indestructible?"

Alias seemed pleased, though it wasn't very easy to tell considering her face was entirely concealed beneath the helmet. "Of course. That's easy, the problem will be fitting enough mass into your armor. It'd be better if I can just replace some of the plating with nanotech entirely."

Levitate walks into the lab holding his sides, cursing against Night for this injuries.

Wyatt followed him in.

"You two will have to wait a second, I only have one scanner." Alias shrugged. "Sorry."

"No it's fine. Just a few broken bones and internal bleeding I think."

"...That sounds remarkably less than fine."

"Hurts like a bitch," Wyatt confirmed.

"That sounds fine by me." London says to Alias' earlier comment.

When the other two members came in, he grimaced.

"It's moments like these that I appreciate my brute rating."

"So Night can't hurt you, I'm guessing?" Tom found a shot glass pushed into his face. "Drink this. Then sit down somewhere."

Tom downs the liquid in the shot glass and sits down. "This is some Metal Gear shit, and it's great."

"Please don't start with the references, you'll make Uber and Leet materialize from nothing and I was having such a good day..."

London raised an eyebrow "What the hell is Metal Gear? Is it a game? If it is, don't tell me, I'm still trying to find out the fuss they were making over my armor."

"Don't bother, you're never going to make sense of all of that weird stuff..."

London shrugged "I figured if they were going to work here I was going to get to know them better. You know, be nice. But I'll take your advice."

"Good man. I get wanting to be nice, but that particular rabbit hole never ends."

"... I have a very distinct feeling that you were dragged down that rabbit hole. Would you like something to drink?"

"Can't. Once I'm done fixing you boys up I've got to get back to work. Trying to work out how to upload my consciousness to the nanobots...I don't like to think what might go wrong if I add alcohol into that particular equation."

"Fair enough, anything else you need from me?"

"Yeah, let me know when that cough goes away. I don't get a ton of hard data on how well the nanobots work on other people most of the time."

"Will do." London said.

After that, the leader of Impetus went around and made sure that every member of Impetus was given treatment. After that, it was a simple matter to get everyone together.

London apologized for his planning, attacking the Empire was stupid without information. With that being said, London ordered that for now, they went out for information. Each night, they would make round patrols, helping those that they could, gaining information, and interfering with ABB and Empire business when they could. The goal? Allow Alias to complete her project, and, once they discovered that Wargame and Leet could combine their powers in a variety of ways, they started making tools to help the team on their way.

A weeks later, London was sitting with the rest of Impetus, as they prepared another night on the town along with going over what they found in the past few days.

They had found out that Lung had another set of targets. Apparently the remaining money from the casino had been stolen during the last week by the Undersiders, a group of relative unknowns in comparison to the big name gangs. They kept their activities on the lower end of the scale, mostly making hit-and-run robberies...the casino was their highest-profile activity in...well, forever.

As for the Empire, they found their capes mostly operated in set groups. Crusader, Night, Fog and Alabaster were one. Hookwolf, Cricket and Stormtiger made up another. The last was Krieg, Victor, Othala and Rune. Kaiser himself didn't make any appearances at all, which was a bit unusual. The man was smart, sure, but he made a point to lead more from the frontlines rather than sitting in some room somewhere directing his troops. Finally, Purity didn't seem to be with any of the Empire's other groups. She managed to pick a fight with Lung and Oni Lee after smashing a number of the ABB's workshops or other buildings up.

The Merchants did a disservice to the word "gang' in general, only barely existing because nobody cared enough to wipe them out, more or less.

Coil was, as ever, a mysterious~ burrito.

The Protectorate and New Wave had both made it clear that Impetus was a criminal organization and Monolith in particular was wanted for the destruction of property as well as about half a dozen counts of assault with a parahuman power on the night of his debut. That said, they didn't make any particular effort to pick fights with any of the patrols, not that they ran across any of them to begin with.

With all that handled, there was now the meeting. Absent: Wyatt, Uber, Leet and Alias.
