"Good thing it's not my department" the General says. Meanwhile pilots are getting ready for an easy fight, and the troops become ready for mobilization.

"Our navy is in control of the atmosphere, Mr.governor, we have taken minimal losses" your aide reports "and the bombardment is, well to be frank, the pilots are horrid shots, but they have hit the stronghold several times" the advisor hands you a losses statement as he waits for updates. "Damnit Griswold! Some idiotic commander is charging the fortress sir! He is taking heavy losses!" The aide explains excitedly.

"The Orks have repelled our attacks, the 201st assault team took heavy losses, over half are KIA or MIA, we have the commander guilty of this in custody and is on board a vessel now. I've sent reinforcements if that is acceptable. They remaining forces are dug in around the stronghold."

A couple months pass and the war effort increases in intensity, your advisor finally reports they are all destroyed, and colonization may begin. The advisor also brings the commander who lead the disastrous charge that lead to the dooms of many men. "What should we do with this traitor?" The advisor asks.

"Good question. He didn't follow orders and for that he must be punished. Otherwise he did what he thought was best and we don't want other commanders to be afraid of making their own decisions. He will be demoted to soldier for a year and then returned as commander."

The aide seems satisfied with the decision. But the general seems to be a little grumpy about the loss of so many lives. "yes sir" the General gives a quick salute. You are certain that this newly soldier will be on the front lines. "Sir we have made progress on Lunia, the planet has a great source of Eridium (makes more durable items and is very rare) we will try to mine it, by tthe specialized mining equipment takes extra funds" the advisor says on a more cheerful note.

"Right away sir, also, the local superivisor asks for a some troops, from
What I've heard, he has lost many miners and colonists on this planet." Advisor Malthus informs you.
The advisor also hands you a data slate filled with statistics this year.
Economy: Decent, Varstagg has some trade routes with other planets that are profitable, and the newly colonized Lunia has a great wealth of resources that will benefit the planet.
Population: 1-2 billion
Military: the military is very well trained, as well trained as the imperial guard, which says a lot.
Morale (troop): morale isn't at an all time high, all things considered, but they are confident in their fighting ability.
Public relations: the public is very pleased with the new governor, and praise him for his resourcefulness in attaining the new colony

The Eridium mining goes well, enough is being processed to sell some and outfit military weapons (+1 attack)

"Sir? Lately we have been losing Eridium shipments, the shipment logs suggest that the vessels holding the mineral were lost while on the way to Tarsus, I think that it would be wise to send some guardian vessels to protect them" your economic advisor suggests
-----------------------
Meanwhile on the Silver Rose cargo ship
A slim dark eldarian pirate reports to his captain "Lord Captain, along with the slaves we have found the precious mineral Eridium, the captain informs us that they are mining this mineral on a colony named Lunia."
A smooth dark voice replies "bring the captain"
In minutes the captain is brought forward to the Captain.
"Tell me the coordinates."
The captain does, quickly.
"Please, please don't kill me, I have family... "
"I shall send them condolences, have no fear" the eldar leader replies and ends the mans life with his chainsword.
"Send a messenger to these colonists, tell them that I will come, tell them that I, Veloth will come
to claim them as my slaves"
