The snow wasn't nearly intense enough for that, and the wind died down as Rudolf backed away from the staircase.

The door continued to sit there and be inanimate. The wind picked up again, snowflakes driven on it to bite at exposed skin.

The spear slammed into the solid ice door with a reverberating BOOM!

It did not yield. It didn't even break slightly.

After a moment, the ice stairs shifted beneath them. Each step abruptly tilted until the stairs had fused seamlessly into a large ice slide.
