"I don't like that plan..." the clerk said.

There were no zombies on their level, but several other scared people. Thankfully none of them seemed to be displaying symptoms of the virus.

Outside, sirens were heard adding to the noise, presumably owing to the cops getting stuck in. Gunshots were infrequently heard breaking through and above the constant barrage of snarling and screaming. For the moment, actually, the streets around the gun store were relatively clear of zombies.

"Does anybody have a saw I could use to cut the barrel off my shotgun" says mathias after loading his hunting rifel and putting on his back.

"Yet we might not be close enough to any other buildings, and I don't know what else we can do on a roof. Let's sit tight and try and figure this out." Jason yelled from across the room. "Besides if we try getting to the roof, there may be more out there than done on the main floor. Mat, this was a gun store and hunting store but we got lucky with the supplies."

"Yeah I guess your right I just need a shorter barrel so it can be better for indoors" says mathias after putting his stuff back in his bag and securing it on his back.

"Besides, we can't leave all these people to die."

"We help them until rescue arrives. Everyone, move to the center of the room! There is a emergency happening outside. Now we will try to protect you but we have no idea of what we are all up against. Yet until we hear otherwise, we need to remain quiet and careful." Jason said before yelling throughout the room. He turned to Sam with a determined look in his eye. "Sam try finding some vending machines and get them open. We will use the food and sodas from those before the supplies we bought downstairs." Jason said before starting to look for stairs for the roof.

"Right." Sam says before getting up and looking for machines.

Nobody seemed to pay Jason much attention; the way these things were going, he was just another voice in the commotion and that of a sixteen-year-old besides. All that added up to a not very compelling speech, as most of the people were clustered at the windows and talking amongst themselves. More than a few of them had their phones out and were either videotaping the ruckus outside or calling others.

Speaking of outside, once the group pushed past the people clustered at the windows they could see that despite all that zombie media claimed it was actually relatively undamaged outside, aside from cars, windows and doors. There were quite a few cars that had collided or otherwise been disabled, one of which was billowing smoke from beneath its hood.

There was also a rather notable lack of people. A few, but only a few, zombies could be seen staggering about, mostly in other bulldings. At least one was sitting in the passenger seat of a car, apparently unable to release the seat belt.

There was a stairway to the roof as well as an elevator in the center of the building.

"Matt, I'm going to the roof." Jason yelled to his friend as he turned to the stairs before climbing to the roof of the gun store. He looked through his scope at the police car.

"Okay Ill hold down the fort here, know every body get back from the windows its not safe and the red eyed people might see you!. And Sam help me find somthing to put over the windows and doors I dont want those things coming in any time soon!"

"Don't be ridiculous, they can't get up the sides of the building." someone said.

On the roof, Jason looked at the police car. An officer had apparently locked himself inside the car and was firing out through the shattered driver's side window at a mob of zombies trying to crawl in and get at him. Their constant attempts to get inside were rocking the vehicle back and forth, while its sirens and lights blazed.

"We have to help that guy maybe we can kill some of the zombies from here and help him out"

Jason walks back downstairs just as Mathias was explaining something to the people at the window.

"Your guns spray pellets and give our position away to those monsters. How can you expect any of our weapons to do any good without letting the officer know we are here?" Jason asked as he walked to the window before turning to look to the ceiling with puzzled look on his face. Mathias knew this look since he would have seen it when they worked on homework together. It meant that Jason was getting an idea.

"A distraction maybe?" Asks Sam.

"At the back of the store yes. As well as a fire set on the roof to signal the officer to our position. Sam you and Matt take all the flammable, smoke making office equipment to the roof. Clerk, you are with me and we need to make sure there are no monsters below us so we can get more supplies. If anybody else has any better ideas, tell me now." Jason says as he flicks the safety off his crossbow.

"He wont see a fire on the roof when he is fighting those monsters we need somthing else, after you get more supplies from down stairs we can make as much noise as we want and that might get the cops attention. But we still have to get out of here some time or another"

"He might see the smoke." Jason says as he walks to the door to the main floor. "Clerk, grab your gun and let's go." Jason yelled before switching the wooden arrow with a metal arrow. "Want to have that main floor clear cleared before the officer arrives." Jason said as he realized that the store should have some sort of two way radio. "Just tell me that you have radios in the hunting section." Jason says as he glares at the clerk.

"'course we do. You grabbed one of them, remember?" The clerk, annoyed by the kid bossing him around, glared right back and did so effectively. "You can't get them on the police frequency, though, that's encrypted."

"Odd, I thought there would be a bit more chaos going on." Says Sam, staring down into the street.

Sam then turns to the clerk. "What's your name by the wat?"

"What about the hand radios in the security office? There has to be a few that can pick up that officer's radio." Jason says as he puts his ear to the door. Quieting his breathing.

"Listen Sam me and you are going to the roof to make sure its clear and maybe find a way to another building okay" Mathias says as he looks for a way to the roof.

"Sounds good to me." Says Sam.

Noticing the look on Matt's face Jason whistled before pointing to the stairs he used to get to the roof himself.

Gus sees the police-car and what he thinks to be a mob of angry people trying to get in. He walks closer, still a healthy distance away and then yells "Hey people, I know you may not like the cops, but there is a more peaceful way to solve things."

Sam goes up the stairs to the roof.
