Pacific Rim RP

So.

That new image in my signature.

That essentially sums up the plot of Pacific Rim: giant robots punching giant monsters in the face.

Sounds like a good brainless and violent RP to run to me, what say you lot?

That does sound like a good role-play. Unfortunately I haven't seen the movie, but I'm guessing that giant robots v. monsters shouldn't be too hard for me to figure out.

I second the motion of this RP. I will do my best to witness the film soon.

Vouch for both the RP and the movie. Monsters VS Robots piloted by humans is an easy to understand notion. One problem, the Drift. Do we throw a little background history or are we not even going with the drift?

What I was thinking is that everyone gets their own pair of rangers to go with a given Jaeger; otherwise you'd be right, RPing a Drift with two different players would be funky.

So what Jaegers are you bringing in?

The obvious answer is that all four of the Jaegers from the movie will be appearing, plus any write-ins that I approve from you guys.

I will do my best to watch the movie by next week.

Cherno Alpha, pilots Sasha and Aleksis Kaidanovsky.
Crimson Typhoon, pilots the Wei triplets
Striker Eureka, pilots Hercules and Chuck Hansen
Gipsy Danger, no pilots.

Description: a silver and black copy of Gipsy Danger
Pilot team: Taner and Tyler Fang (AKA Half-Warriors)
Fighting style: changes every fight, finishing move code name Knuckle Sandwich.
Pilot team description: a pair of identical twins and are identified by which arm they have in a sling and which eye they cover with an eyepatch, Taner has his left eye covered with his left eye covered, Tyler has his right arm in the sling and his right eye covered.
Pilot Habits: Neither twin cannot be found without the other in the room, tend to finish each-other's sentences, fighting with other pilot teams Tag Team Style.

BREAKING NEWS: I just got the movie and I will watch it tonight after I get home from church.

Changes every fight? Again, that's not very much information. Also, the arm-in-a-sling bit is a tad hard to swallow. Amputation would, in fact, work better, especially if you got rid of the eye thing. If their arms are busted they aren't Jaegering about. Arguably amputees wouldn't be considered either but if Hunter was a Mark IV that could make sense; Mark IVs were basically showboats anyway, so humans were probably like "hurr durr we can beat you up with cripples lol"



Apologies if I sound harsh but yeah. Not sure where we'd be deployed, looking into that now.

Pilot team: Trent and Tyler Fangs
Medical history Tyler Fangs: Left arm crushed by a piece of rubble while out of Jaeger to assist with the wounded, arm was amputated on sight. Left eye was also damaged beyond healing capacity. Three weeks later was treated for fight wounds from a fight with another Jaeger Pilot. Cause of fight unknown.

Medical history Trent Fangs: Right arm was amputated by request of the patient and had concerning events prior-amputation. Multiple acts of willing self injury to right arm of near  suicidal nature.
Criminal history: One altercation with police involving a undercover op for the Kaiju Black Market. Only gave information from the op if his right arm was removed, psychologists gave him a clear to fight order but the partner had to be his brother Tyler Fangs.

Fighting Style: Changes to fit the situation, Finishing move code name Knuckle Sandwich.

[Yes I changed the name of the Jaeger. So 'Demon Hunter' is fair game.]

No Medical history at this time.

Criminal history: both men worked in the Kaiju black market as partners, buying, and selling from others in the market. until the head of their chapter was killed by a kaiju.

Relatively okay, except that there is no way someone like Marley would get approved for Jaeger duty. Also the eye damage to Jim seems a little like you're copying Sagan.

The partially blinded bit is mine! Mits off! Your pilots could have had a case of Kaiju Blue or something. But crippled by an arm loss and a slight blindness is my business this RP.

No, Sagan added that because his characters are amputees. An explanation of why your pilots are Drift compatible would be nice, however.
