The Tome of True Grit

Post by Savurl on Mon Aug 29, 2011 8:32 pm

Charlie Boxer

I wonder what will kill you, my darksteel knuckles or my plasma rifle. Maybe I'll just send you hurtling to the moon to spare time/

Tier 1-3, maybe 4 at times
He pulls of some crazy things with his tech, and he is a very intelligent man and trained fighter. However, he does not have magic of any kind, other than the demi-plane that serves as a battery and power souce for his tech.

Age: 42, but he looks and acts like he's 30.

Race: Human

Gender: Male

Occupation: He's supposed to be an archeaologist, but he doesn't seem to do much of that. He mostly fiddles around and creates awesome tools out of peicemeal scrap and a few bits of quality equipment.

Appearance: Imagine a cross of Indiana Jones and Sherlock Holmes.

Abilities: He is extemely good at jury-rigging scrap together into coherent and useful tools. He is also very good at manipulating several tech devices at once. He is a veteran boxer.

Equipment: About anything you can imagine: He can pull out of his pocket or side bag, both of which are portable holes/ handy haversacks (extra-dimensional space that he stores all of his stuff in. When he reaches in, whatever he wants automatically comes out, as long as it was there to start with. The extradimensional space is about the size of a standard labratory room. Although probably less organized.

He also wears a good suitjacket with a green t-shirt underneath and is wearing cargo pants.

Personality and History: Again, imagine a cross of Indiana Jones and Sherlock Holmes.

Alignment: Genteel (Lawful semi-good)

Sigmar

I don't tell people my limits because they might get scared. Or start expecting too much of me.

Teir: 3 to 4
His sheer amount of power is unspeakable to the common man. However, he likes other people to see him and worship him for his talents, and therefore doesn't like doing really powerful things which tend to destroy stuff and make people not like you. His lack of internal motivation is his main limitation.

Age: 27

Race: Human, probably

Gender: Male

Occupation: Assorted jobs. He is powerful enough that he can really do whatever he wants. He advertizes his talents to others and accepts jobs if they seem interesting.

Appearance: Scruffy. A mixture between a wizard, a bike gang member, and a mafia hitman.

Abilities: Extremely powerful and consistant telekinisis. For objects that do not wheigh much ~less than 3 pounds, he doesn't even have to spend a thought on making it move. Light objects around him just move accoding to his emotions or fleeting thoughts. Creating detailed objects is hard for him, even with very light objects. He is definitely not an artist.

Ecquipment: A set of comfortable clothes that are tight enough to stay on but loose enough to provide full range of motion. He also has a thick and durable black trenchcoat that he always is wearing over everything else. Assorted other clothing. He always carries some incendiary stuff (like gunpowder) and a sparker. Also, a notebook to write down stuff important enough that he bothers to care, but not important enough that he would remember himself.

In case of disaster, he carries a relvolver with more power than two desert eagles combined, as well as a holy sword he was entrusted with not too long ago. Also a wooden flute, which he sometimes plays.

Also, He has some customary semi-precious ioun stones that he likes and keeps in orbit around himself, usually above his head in a halo, but they go all over the place when he feels like messing with them. He plays with them when he gets bored.

Personality: Slothful until someone challenges him, or when he might gain a loyal follower or comrade. Gets bored easily, and therefore seeks new challenges and games to play.

History: Sigmar believes a bad memory is the best mental defence, and thus forgets almost everything. He retains his personality and remembers important things but minor details elude him. Like when to show up to a business meeting.

Alignment: He likes to think of himself as Chaotic Good, but in action he tends more towards Neutral Good.

More Charachters!

Ivan Ivanovich

Chaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggee!

Teir: 2; with his army, 3

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Occupation: Leading his army which seeks to establish a prosperous communistic society the right way.

Appearence: Wears fairly standard clothing: Brown shirt, pants and boots with a brown/green overcloak. He often has the cloaks hood up. He looks his age, seems to always have a stubbly face. He has some embellishments on his clothing from being the effective prince of his new nation, but nothing too fancy that would draw undue attention or restrict movement.

Abilities: He is a fairly good swordsman, and is the very charismatic leader of his followers. However, he is very bad at naming new things.

Equipment: His army of ~350 people, the flying war/city ship Ivan, his clothes and assorted baubles that may have some powers undefined at the moment, and his sword.

His sword is a very powerful one, and is the reason for his rise to power. It prevents the use of all normal magic by absorbing all ambient magic within 150 feet of the sword. This includes all stored arcane energy in objects like fireball wands or reserve shield talismans. The energy absorbed is utilised by the sword to produce magical effects. It is sentient, so it controls the magic itself and can communicate telepathically to all creatures within the anti-magic field.

Personality: He just wants his own independent country to lead. He is a very reasonable and nice man. However, he does not trust those who would try to say that they know what to do with the universe. He believes that humans should just do whatever is needed to survive at the given moment and enjoy basic pleasures.

History: A former peasent from the Soviet Union, he discovered his trademark sword, and then became infamous as things tended to go wrong around him, as all magic failed where he went. People might not notice the small magical items that make the world work the way it normally does; these all stop working near him. Anyway, he decided to start his own country free from the apparent stupidity of the Soviet rulers, with the support of his sword. He assembled a following and aquired his ship somehow.

Alignment: Lawful good

Colonization charachter...

America

Is the personification of American stereotypes, and can switch between these aspects as neccesary.

tier: 1-2

Redneck

History: He grew up in the 'hills and is either extremely patriotic or unpatriotic.

Apperance: plaid shirt and blue jeans. These are preferably ragged, but almost anything will be worn by the redneck.

Views: anything can be fixed and kept operational forever. Well known in skills related to living in the country, like firing weapons, being drunk, and being confounded by those comperter peoples and liberals.

Equipment: can summon an ancient convertable and a shotgun at will. Always has cigarettes and alchohol in posession.

Action Hero

Can survive anything that is not inescapeable. And sometimes even then.

History: Usually the action hero has a regrettable past he wishes to escape. Either that, or he has yet to gain this regrettable past, as he is a new special ops. trainee.

Appearence: Truly diverse. America, however, usually transforms into a buff shirtless guy with gratuitous bands of ammunition strapped across his chest.

Equipment: can summon a helicopter at will. He can pilot it, obviously. I mean, it doesn't take years of training to be able to use one..... Anyway, he also has a machine gun, a pistol, grenades, C4, and almost any other military technology that could be carried.

Fat Man; Joe Blargg

He is fat and stupid.

Appearence: He is fat, probably has foodstained clothes, and might be drooling. Often bald.

Equipment: He can summon a large, gas guzzling truck.

Special power; Stupidity serendipity He will manage to do things so stupid, that he will either drive others insane, or actully pass though to the other side, making useful observations. In the latter situation he might get worshipped for a short time before he manages to offend somebody.
