Jonn was the first one to show up, hard to believe because he's usually late for everything. he takes a quick swig of his favorite Sake and walks into the lab. "All right, let's see. Jonn picks up one of the 3 pokeballs and releases a Stellarina.

Serena was next to show up, adjusting her hat as she walked in. Her Poké Ball turned out to contain an Espurr, which blinked up at her mournfully.

Jonn looks down at the Stellarina and smiles to himself. "I think you will be..." he looks at the bottle of sake he has with him. "Koro."

Henry comes next and chooses a pokeball. Aron then pops out

Serena frowned at Jonn...did he seriously just name his Pokémon after a brand of sake? No wonder he'd taken two years to even get one...

She turned back to her own Pokémon. "I think I'm going to call you...Kitsune." Newly-named Kitsune blinked and tilted its head, then smiled slightly.

Henry picks up Aron "Nice to meet you to, ah Alec"

Jonn turns to Henry. "Name's Jonn."

Serena picked up Kitsune and, still holding the small Pokémon in her arms, walked to the two others. She knew of Jonn - you couldn't live in Pallet Town and not know who he was after two years of stories of his drunken exploits and not-getting-a-Pokémon. As such, she introduced herself to Henry first. "Hi! My name's Serena, what's yours?"

"Oh ah Henry. Nice to meet you. This is Alec"

"So, Henry, now that you've got a Pokémon, what are you planning to do?" Serena asked him, doing her best to avoid eye contact with Jonn.

"I'm thinking all of the badges that kanto has to offer. You?"

Serena grinned sassily. "Why stop there? Kanto, Johto, Unova...I'm going to beat them all!"

Henry smiled "Tell you what, lets make a bet. First one to get all the badges this world has to offer wins. Deal?"

"Deal. I sure hope you're not planning on putting money on this...especially since I'm going to beat you."

"I don't have that money to bet. Even so I wont go down easy"

"Good. That wouldn't be any fun." Serena's tone and expression made it clear that she wasn't anywhere near serious. Then she thought of another concern. "How are we supposed to find our way around the region?"

"A map maybe?" Jonn says dryly.

"Do you have one? Because I don't."

"They set up region maps in the pokemon centers. Or we can use our pokedex's"

"The Pokédexes we don't own?" They hadn't, after all, been given any.

"I'm thinking positively. Either way we can't start our journey without one"

"Ohofcourseyou'reabsolutelyright.Hereyouarethreeofthelatestmodelsforyouthree.Nowoffyougoanddon'tforgettofillupthoseDexes!" Moving practically so fast as to not be seen, Oak bestowed upon each of them a Pokédex and practically shoved them and their Pokémon out the door:

Jonn didn't bother to process what Oak just said, he just took his pokedex and used it on Stellarina.
