CWG: City of Shadows

A police siren rings loud as a group of cops chase a stolen bank car down the main street of Gotham. The police set up a barricade but the criminals turn down an alleyway to escape. As the cops try to pursue, they use rocket launchers to bring down part of a wall of the building next to them to stop them from passing.

The criminals get away and the car stops outside the docks. There were only two street light aluminizing the surrounding area and the ciminals could see that they were alone. The two in the car get out "YOU DUMBASS"

"What?"

"The boss said only use the rockets if we had to take care of the bat, he didn't say to drop a building on some cops we probably own already"

"Well we got away didn't w-" The criminal stops talking because he got hit straight in the face by what appeared to be a metal bat. He was knocked out cold and the remaining fugitive pulled out a small caliber handgun "Well then come on out bat! I'm ready for you!"

"Are you?" Said a deep voice right behind him

The criminal turned quickly but the lights went out and there was complete darkness

"You think I'm afraid of the dark!?!" he says with a shaky voice

"No, but your afraid of whats in the dark"

The criminal turned and fired his hand gun in all directions screaming while he did it. Once he was out he felt something grab him and then he couldn't remember anything else. When he came to he and his partner were tied up and the police were coming out of there cars to get them.

Batman stands atop a tall skyscraper seeing everything go down through his binoculars

Penguin was in his submarine with Mr. Freeze. Mr. Freeze turned and faced Penguin "I want to kill Bruce Wayne."

"Why's that" the Penguin asked.

"The Joker provided me with this" a single sheet of paper was slid across the table. The top of the page was lined with the Wayne Enterprise logo, and below a short summary statement and a record of an account transfer "he made her death possible. I knew my experimental setup was right!"

The Penguin smiled. Bruce Wayne is rich. But a dead man doesn't need money "I'll help you."

After the criminals Batman returned to the batcave

"Bruce Wayne will be coming along this street in his car" the Penguin smiled "unfortunately he'll be late for his meeting."

Poison Ivy smiled at that. She was going to cause the delay. Mr. Freeze seemed less amused, but didn't comment either.

The wayne family car went down the same route as the villains planed

The Penguin stood outside a fancy club, a little down the road "target approaching"

As the Wayne family car turned the corner, a tangle of vines shot out and smashed into the car, effectively making it immobile.

"Alfred went happened!?!" Bruce asks

"Vines Sir!"

"Hello Bruce" Mr. Freeze said "You might want to...cool down."

Mr. Freeze shot a stream of freeze rays in Wayne's direction.

The blast hit the car and doing what it was designed to do froze the outside instantly trapping the occupants inside

"I assume you have a plan sir"

"I do yes"

Mr. Freeze walked to the passenger door, which was left unfrozen "come on out Bruce! We have some business to attend."

Before Bruce gets out he activates a silent signal to the Batcave. He gets out "Ok whats this about?"

At the cave Oracle gets the signal and calls the first number she has "Nightwing. We have a problem"

"Let me tell you something: A few years ago my wife was sick with an unknown disease. One that I went to great lengths to create a cure for" Mr Freeze brings out the account statement provided by the Joker (obviously fake) "but now I see she didn't die because of me. She died because of you. You sabotaged my experiment."

Mr. Freeze pointed his freeze gun at Wayne and fired "A cold heart deserves some ice"

Meanwhile at Bruce's company meeting the Penguin arrives with his henchmen to capture the business leaders and bring them to a forsaken warehouse "Hmm....wonder who the bat will stop."

Bruce jumps out of the way "My company never sabotaged any medical equipment!"

"I have it on paper" Mr Freeze replied, continuing slowly to angle the freeze ray in Bruce's direction.

Bruce took cover behind the car "Who gave you that paper?"

"The Joker."

"Freeze I know I'm not the smartest guy out there, talk to any of my ex's. But trusting the Joker with anything is beyond stupid and you know it"

"Facts don't lie Bruce" Freeze leveled the gun at Wayne and fired.

In the office complex for Bruce's meeting meanwhile the Penguin is taking the business members hostage.

In the same building as penguin takes his hostages Nightwing goes through the window "Hello bird brain" he says

"Batman busy?" Penguin asked, shooting a spray of bullets Nightwing's direction "how unprofessional."

Nightwing effortlessly dodges them "Hey he has a few things he needs to take care of so your stuck with me"

Penguin lets his henchmen take care of Nightwing while leading out the business leaders "well, I'm busy too. Here are some of my friends!"

Nightwing takes out two tonpha sticks and swings them around "Come on in gents"

The men don't oblige, instead taking out their guns and shooting at Night Wing. The Penguin loads the business men onto a truck and takes off in the direction of the harbor.

A blast of Ice was shot at Bruce by Mr. Freeze, to freeze him so that Bruce could be properly "entertained".
