Re: De Camino et Virtus Bellorum
Phil noticed, a few yards from the resting place of their ship, that there was what may have been an arm sticking up out of the snow.
Meanwhile, the British were messing about near their downed ships like a kicked hornet's nest, not terribly pleased with this turn of events. It didn't help that more of them seemed to have been killed in the crash than the Greek crew. The British officer, and a man who looked exactly like him, had decided to come over for a visit, with several marines accompanying them.

Phil walks over to the protruding arm and tries to pull it out of the snow. "Hey, are you ok?" he asks, thinking it was another crew member.

Re: De Camino et Virtus Bellorum
Phil effortlessly unearthed the arm and the connected person...who was quite dead and had been mummified by the cold. Intriguingly this corpse wore a small tiara-like crown and a luxurious purple cloak of silk.
"Ah." one of the officers said from behind him. "The Exile." his twin spat. Before either could elaborate a hand of solid, packed snow erupted from the ground behind Phil and clutched at his ankle.

Phil staggers a bit, nearly tripping over the cloak. The captain tries to wrench his ankle free of the snow.

The snowy hand crumbles, but more of them pull their way up, hauling humanoid bodies of snow out of the ground. Worse still, heavy, angular shapes are walking towards the ship out of the mountainside, highlighted by low chanting.
Phil and Merlin recognized the language; Norwegian. They couldn't quite make out the words yet.

"Uh, what the hell happened?" Octavion asked as he and Anastasia woke up after the crash.

The Scot gave them both an irritated look. "We crash-&^%$ing-landed. Pay attention, ya idiots."
Re: De Camino et Virtus Bellorum
Phil unsheathes his sword and starts to slash at the humanoid snow.

Bjorn uses his gear to man over through the mountains and get to the crew. When he sees them fighting he takes out his blades and joins them in the fight

while the fighting is going on, Phil plucks the Tiara and cloak from the ground, he pockets the crown and fastens the cloak around his neck.

Re: De Camino et Virtus Bellorum
The snowmen go down in droves, although they remain alive and piece themselves back together. The huge shapes from the mountain are coming ever closer, their ominous low chanting rumbling about the group.
"Født av kulde og vinter luft
Og milde smil så blend
Vår iskalde dronning så rettvis
Har vår ed alltid bindende..."

- Merlin, Phil and Bjorn understand Norwegian:
- Born of cold and winter air
And gentle smile so blinding
Our icy queen so true and fair
Has our oath forever binding

"Again, the Exile." Thing One said, slicing a snow golem's head off.
The snow golems promptly disappeared, most of them slinking back...as a titanic figure made from ice linked together like armored plates stepped forward, at least twenty feet tall.
The being stood there, simply staring down at them.

- More Norwegian singing for PHil, Bjorn and Merlin:
- So cut to the heart, cold and clear
Strike for love and strike for fear
See her beauty sharp and sheer
LEAVE THIS MOUNTAINSIDE
YOU ARE NOT SAFE HERE
Re: De Camino et Virtus Bellorum
Phil stares up at the things face. "Well, I don't think she's dead."
Phil clears his throat. "Greetings and salutations to you sir."

Re: De Camino et Virtus Bellorum
The ice giant glared down at him before opening its razor-toothed mouth to respond in Norwegian. "Leave this place, wanderers, or face the wrath of the Jotun, heralds of the storm and winter's woe."
It was clear this wasn't the only jotun around - other icy forms were visible not far off through the snow. Both of the twin officers appeared disgusted with the creatures.

Re: De Camino et Virtus Bellorum
The jotun blinked slowly, not having expected that for an answer. "Do not lie to us, little ones. The jotun are strong, and quick to anger. Stronger than one..."
A few additional jotun voices joined in as he continued: "...stronger than ten..." until a chorus of voices that echoed like thunder were speaking in unison. "...stronger than a hundred men!"
The single one who had acted as spokesjotun so far waited a moment for the echoes to die down. "You will go now, or we shall make you."

The jotun took a step forward. "You will go now."
The officers (Rupert and Vincent De Vil) were giving orders to their men, who were commandeering a gun aboard one of the less broken skiffs. A flamethrower.

Phil sees what they are doing. "No wait, the last thing we want to do is make them even more angry."

Re: De Camino et Virtus Bellorum
They were having trouble getting the flamethrower to work - frost had formed inside the aiming mechanism and it was difficult to get it to aim at the jotun. All the same, they were making progress...maybe a good thing, because the jotun was now striding purposefully towards the group, its claws lengthening drastically.
