The characters included thus far are fine (Although, if you want a fast-talking type character, a Dunmer probably isn't the best choice, just saying.) As for the question of two characters, I would allow it, but only one would be Dragonborn. (So the twins option would be out, unless they are fraternal twins.)

Talos, Divines, all of these are superstitious drivel. Logic and reason are the only gods I want or need.

Full Name: Bzothan the (self-proclaimed) Final, Last of the Dwemer

Age: His race’s equivalent of mid-30s. I cannot seem to find a proper source for this so whatever.

Race: Dunmer. Convinced, however, that he is Dwemer, and the last of his kind left on Tamriel.

Gender: Male

Appearance: For a Dunmer, Bzothan is pretty damn huge and muscle-bound, comparable to Nords or Orcs in stature. His face is relatively short for an elf, and he maintains an immaculate ornamented goatee-style beard. His hair is shaggy and worn long.

Abilities: Probably one of the most knowledgeable people on Tamriel when it comes to the Dwemer; he’s not, however, a renowned researcher on account of...well, read the personality section. He’s also quite a proficient smith, owing to his attempts to replicate Dwemer metallurgical techniques, and relatively experienced with sword and shield, virtually a requirement for those encountering Dwemer automata regularly. He’s relatively okay with enchanting and alteration. He is not Dragonborn.

Equipment: Generic adventuring gear except for his steel armor, which he has attempted to mold in the Dwemer fashion. Except the Imperials took all this at Darkwater Crossing when they captured him for the crime of assaulting a soldier when he was called “dark elf.”

Personality: Typically gruff and aloof, as he doesn’t particularly care about anything not connected to his life goal of joining the Dwemer race. He’s actually highly intelligent and knows quite a bit, it’s just that he’s insane. For example, he’s capable of using Insane Troll Logic (Table Logic, to some of you) to justify his being a Dwemer, and he’s applied it to other things for his benefit as well. Generally he’s not someone people like being around; Bzothan believes that as a Dwemer he is naturally superior to even the Thalmor (which says a LOT) and isn’t terribly shy about saying as much. He also is not shy about dismissing anything whatsoever to do with the Aedra and Daedra as illogical superstition and proof of others’ inferiority. His view on the Civil War in Skyrim is that he doesn’t have a view; he was so absorbed in his Dwemerholic lifestyle that he completely missed the Civil War when it broke out; he doesn’t agree with one side over the other and thinks the whole issue is poppycock since it’s over Talos. In fact, his encounter with the prisoner escort was his first indication that there was a war on; he hadn’t spoken much to anyone or cared enough to listen that the entire way through the Rift he managed to not hear about it beyond casual conversation.

History: Once a Dwemer researcher and archaeologist. He developed a rather unhealthy obsession with the ancient society of the deep elves and, as his mental condition deteriorated, it became increasingly difficult to find expeditions he could join. Eventually he started delving into dangerous ruins on his own, fighting off automata with sword and shield before, through his crazed misinterpretation of some artifact or text, he concluded that he was in fact a Dwemer. He discarded his Dunmer name (which he has since refused to even say) and dedicated his life to rejoining his new “ancestors.” When Red Mountain erupted, it rendered a large portion of Dwemer ruins in Morrowind unreachable. In search of new dungeons, he struck out for Skyrim, aiming specifically for Markarth. However, at Darkwater Crossing he ran afoul of the Imperials escorting a group of Stormcloak prisoners. He was overpowered, had his arms and armor confiscated, and was thrown in with the other prisoners.

Occupation: Former archaeologist, currently attempting to find the rest of the Dwemer and/or join them.

Affiliation: True Neutral

Flaws: Insane: believes he’s a dwemer. Arrogant: believes that as a Dwemer he’s superior even to the Thalmor. Obsessed: with anything dwarven in general.

Tactics: Sword and board. Opens with an Alteration-based armor spell, then combines his sword with the enemy’s head. If they keep out of range he likes crossbows.

Notes: A secondary goal of his is to command Dwarven automata.



Ilyssa

I’m a seamstress, damn it, not a thief! I shouldn't have to put up with this!

Full Name: Ilyssa Volesse

Age: 22

Race: Breton

Gender: Female

Appearance: Slender almost to the point of malnutrition, with virtually no muscle mass. Pale, with straight dark brown hair typically pulled back into an unkempt ponytail and stringy side-swept bangs encroaching on her right eye. Her eyes are wide and bright green, lending her an appearance of innocence that has helped her out of more than one tight spot.

Abilities: Dragonborn. Also fairly adept at thievery, somewhat so at archery and alchemy as well, more or less out of necessity since she left Daggerfall. Prefers to solve problems with words rather than arrows as there’s less chance of her being horribly killed. Resorts to illusions on occasion, but she prefers to avoid using magic.

Equipment: Currently nothing, courtesy of the Imperials.

Personality: Sides more or less with the Imperials, largely because she’s young enough to not remember when Talos was widely accepted, believes the Stormcloaks to be murderers but isn’t stupid enough to say so to their faces. Lapses into sarcasm whenever she gets the opportunity, but not when it’ll get her into trouble. She has a bit of a problem accepting responsibility; to her, nothing’s ever her fault, to the point where she simply goes into denial when confronted about her stealing. If you listen to her, the reason she was forced out of High Rock and later Cyrodiil was because of corrupt guards, framing, anything but the fact that she’s simply a petty thief. As such she’s somewhat bitter towards the Divines in general and no longer particularly worships them, leaning more towards Nocturnal (though she insists it’s not because she’s a thief but rather because Nocturnal is the Daedric Prince of luck)

History: Worked as a seamstress in Daggerfall, though her lust for gold and quick fingers eventually got her in serious trouble with the authorities. She had to escape the city and travel across High Rock dodging guards (at least one bounty hunter too) and surviving via thievery and alchemy. After a brief detour into Hammerfell and then Cyrodiil, she went north into Skyrim, more or less safely. In Darkwater, she ran into Ulfric’s little group early on and was in the process of convincing them she wasn’t an Imperial agent when the ambush hit. Despite her protests she was thrown into the carts with the rest of the Stormcloaks and knocked unconscious when she refused to stop trying to talk her way out of the situation.

Occupation: Former seamstress, currently a freelance alchemist and a thief.

Affiliation: Chaotic Neutral

Flaws: Frail: if she is forced into melee she cannot take a hit. Weak: nor, really, can she give much of a fight with a melee weapon. Greedy: her desire for gold practically runs her life by this point.

Tactics: Almost exclusively uses a shortbow, the better to stay the hell away from the pointy ends of enemy swords. If possible she’ll try and negotiate her way out of situations, and if that’s obviously not going to work she’ll try to stay hidden and snipe.

Notes: Prefers to wear fancier clothes if she can obtain them; she was, after all, a seamstress and status means something to a Breton.

Skills:healing, one handed dagger combat, fluent in all known languages.

Criminal History: caught stealing medical herbs from a Medicean man, charges waved due to the use of the stolen herbs to heal a sick child with Medicean man's assistance.

Family History: both parents are known thieves and are currently living out a life sentence. Have not been visited by Rees-Haat.

If the game's anything to go by, a hell of a lot more than all of us together can take under the circumstances.

Also I find it interesting that Ilyssa has sort of usurped Lokir's role in the game; complaining about how the Empire can't execute them.

I have a question about the use of magic on the RP I know that we have only a small amount of magica at the moment but what about spells? are we only aloud to use the spells in the game or can we make more complex spells like to blind people or to move earth or to try and unlock some doors? I know we have to be realistic and the more complex stuff we will have to roll for but is that aloud and what about tomes do we have to find them to use spells or can we try and do them without them or can someone teach us them? and what spells do we know in the begining?

I finally got around to finishing my characters off:


Do’krin
“Skooma is worth killing for!”
Full Name: Do’krin
Age: Racial equivalent of about thirty
Race: Khajiit - Cathay
Gender: Male
Appearance: Fairly typical Khajiit from the games, as he’s Cathay like the in-game ones. Tannish-light brown fur with darker spots leopard-style on his face.
Abilities: Talented with dual-wielding scimitars, preferably of Khajiiti make. Dragonborn.
Equipment: None - Imperials took it all.
Personality: As a caravan guard he is an excellent choice: he is vicious, loves to fight, and shows little mercy to bandits. But he has one flaw. He is severely addicted to sweet substances.
History: He came to Skyrimas a caravan guard. At one point the caravan was attacked by robbers and Do’Krin managed to save a lot of lives. When the caravan traders refused to give Do’krin something (sweet) for saving their lives, the trader got introduced to both Do’Krin’s scimatours. After that Do’krin got arrested by the other caravan guards.
Occupation: Would-be caravan guard except he likes his skooma
Affiliation: Chaotic Good
Flaws: Addict: skooma
Tactics: The best tactic with scimitars is to slice the enemies to ribbons. Of course one could use claws, but scimitars are so much more fun. Do’krin relies on charging at the opponent, instead of using any tactics. It works when the other side doesn’t have a strategy...

Inari
Full Name: Inari
Age: Presumably the same as Do’Krin
Race: Khajiit - Pahmar-raht
Gender: Male
Appearance: Take a sabre cat minus the sabre teeth and put it on roughly the same size as a horse. Add tiger-like stripes and it’s a Pahmar-raht.
Abilities: Not Dragonborn, but he’s a frigging tiger the size of a damn grizzly bear. Do the math. Also not Dragonborn.
Equipment: Nothing to begin with, ergo nothing the Imperials took.
Personality: Inari is a fiercely loyal companion to Do’krin. Do’krin is the leader of the duo, but Inari is the muscle.
History: Accompanied Do’krin to Skyrim to work as a caravan guard. When Do’krin got attacked by the caravan guards, Inari came up and defended him, for Inari cannot speak the common tongue (Do’krin is the translator).
Occupation: Former caravan guard.
Affiliation: Neutral Good
Flaws: Loyal to Do’krin who tends to get into a lot of trouble due to skooma addiction.
Tactics: Same as his partner. Charge at the enemy and injure them. Simple.
Notes: Takes skooma like most Khajiit, but is vastly less affected by it than Do’krin, partly because of his sheer size.

Also, guys, we may want to tone down our posting a bit. Either that or Sheo picks his up, one of the two, because Ralof and Lokir didn't get in anywhere near as much dialogue as they ought to. So if Sheo doesn't pick up his rate I'd like to ask you guys to slow yours a bit; we've still got Ring of Fire for me to nolife if we need to run something every hour.

I have class during the week, so keep that in mind. (Also, I was cutting down on Ralof and Lokir's conversation on purpose.) Tuesday through Thursday, I will have class until 4:00. Until 11:00 on Monday and Friday.

As for spells, you will be restricted to the spells of the game until a particular point. (Obviously, I will not tell you this point, so you don't try and rush to it the instant you can.)

Ah. To be fair, as stated above my character ended up partially usurping Lokir's entire purpose of being there.

But I'll be interested to see how Hadvar handles all these people being not on the list.

Speaking of Hadvar, at the point where Ralof and Hadvar normally split will it be possible for different characters to end up on completely different adventures?
