Turmoil has engulfed the
Galactic Republic. The taxation
of trade routes to outlying star
systems is in dispute.

Hoping to resolve the matter
with a blockade of deadly
battleships, the greedy Trade
Federation has stopped all
shipping to the small planet
of Naboo.

While the congress of the
Republic endlessly debates
this alarming chain of events,
the Supreme Chancellor has
secretly dispatched two Jedi
Knights, the guardians of
peace and justice in the
galaxy, to settle the conflict...

"Be mindful of your tongue, Padawan." Qui-Gon said. Ostensibly his tone was firm, but Obi-Wan caught a subtle hint in his eyes that that remark had crossed the line a bit.

Qui-Gon sighed. His Padawan's ability had clearly gone to his head; he would have to postpone Obi-Wan's graduation until the headstrong young Jedi learned to conduct himself properly.

A silver droid greets them and escorts them to a conference room. It turns around and says, "Excuse me for asking this, but I was under the impression that the Chancellor had sent only two ambassadors."

"About that..." Obi-Wan says, "Apparently the Chancellor can't count."

"Be quiet." Qui-Gon turned to the droid. "The ambassadors are myself and Master Fisto here; Obi-Wan is merely my apprentice."

"I'm technically an ambassador too!" Obi-Wan says as he also takes a seat.

"Shall I get you anything to drink?" the droid asks.

"That won't be necessary." Qui-Gon said to the droid. To his apprentice, he simply smiled. "Technically, you are only here to observe." Something for which we should all be grateful, your mouth is liable to inflame this crisis rather than avert it.

"Very well then," the droid says. "The Viceroy will be in to speak with you in a moment."

With that, it turns around and out of the conference room.

"Rude droid." Obi-Wan mumbles, crossing his arms. "Didn't even ask me if I wanted anything to drink. Why?" He looks at Qui-Gon. "Oh yeah, that's right. Padawans are always overlooked when it comes to ambassador stuff."

After a little while, the door opens up once again. In comes the Viceroy, who happens to be a Toydarian.

"What? Jedi?!" He says, looking frightened.

"Well duh." Obi-Wan says with a smirk.

"Obi-Wan, be quiet!" Qui-Gon said sharply; he would have none of this nonsense while the Viceroy was here.

"Yes, Master." Obi-Wan says as he bows and proceeds to listen.

"Jedi? On my ship?" The Toydarian says again. "No. No. NO! I wanted one of those idiot ambassadors whom I could easily capture and hold for ransom!"

He flies out and says, "Battle Droids! Attack the Jedi!"

Battle Droids rush in, guns blazing.

"So much for diplomacy." Obi-Wan says as he brandishes his blue lightsaber.

Kit Fisto pulls out his lightsaber and jumps at the battle droids, swinging it at the nearest droids.

Qui-Gon's green lightsaber was in his hand in an instant and the first pair of blaster bolts were deflected back into their firers.
