C&CIII OOC 2

Welcome to C&C! This is a role-play based on playing nations/states. Word of Warning:This Role-play is highly competitive by nature, which means that you might loose to other players in a war or the AI will win.

Because C&C is highly competitive, I will protect player countries: Player countries will not be eliminated, unless they do something disastrously stupid (AKA Luxembourg declares war on Germany). Otherwise player countries will survive. That means if you loose the war, that's OK. You will live to fight another day. Secondly, I will not hesitate to step on players feet. Just because they have GM protection, that doesn't mean that the AI's can't attack them and win. Lastly, keep in mind it's just a game…enjoy!

Next, below is a list of countries available for play. Of course you can opt to rebel from a country. Notify me first if that's what you plan to do. Some rebellions just plain won't work. However, I have historically been pretty lenient on what rebellions work.
Countries Available: Austro-Italian Empire (Italy+Austria put together),  Belgium, Britain, Congo, Cuba, Denmark, France, Iceland, Japan, Morocco, Netherlands, Ottoman Empire,  Persia, Scandinavia, Spain, Switzerland or Union of South America [USA].
Revolting possibilities that are probably the most likely (named after modern day nations): Brazil, India, Indonesia, Poland, Siam or Tibet. There are of course many more possibilities, but those are the ones I recommend.

Last thing: You can play up to two countries. This requires that you pick a nonadjacent country and that there will be very little metagaming (countries magically being friends and agreeing on everything).

*Countries of players (who don't announce they are busy) of countries that don't respond within a week will revert under my control. I'll keep those countries out of deep poo, as much as I can. Realize however the RP needs to move on, and if the player in question doesn't respond for a month the country will be up for grabs by either new or switching players. If you tell me ahead of time, this can be avoided.

Can I have a Report on the french economy. And what Poland and the Netherlands think of being controls by Germany?

In a similar vein, how are Aztec attempts to get more labor going? Are there any other possible solutions other than Russian immigrants?

Come to think of it, we may just want to get an all-nation update. I think we haven't had one yet this month?

Close to Monthly Report

Austria Italy- Austria Italy has entered in the war against Britain on France’s side. As the British bombarded the French shores the Austrians attacked the prominent British ally: The Ottoman Empire. Austrian troops have since the start of the war to capture a good chunk of the Balkans and while the peace talks are going on continue to do so. Austria of course wants to cut Turk influence in the Balkan region opting instead to be the power that the Balkans look towards.

Aztlan: Aztlan entered the war, and came out victorious. It captured the valuable port of New Orleans and France gave it Central America so that France would not have to deal with Aztlan. Thus Aztlan was a true victor in the war and it got out pretty quick. Aztlan has been lagging behind the European countries in terms of industrialization because its population is not very large. It competed with the British America’s and Cuba or immigrants. The southern half of the nation (Central America) is producing food and raw materials and remains pretty rural.

Belgium: As its northern neighbor has gotten invaded to promote “democracy”, the Belgians have unsuccessfully searched for allies to help them defend from the German juggernaut. Belgium keeps spies in Germany to warn it of possible invasion.

Britain: Britain started yet another war. This time with France, its longtime competitor. Britain destroyed France’s harbors along the English channel and the Atlantic. They were less successful against French Mediterranean harbors. While the French still have naval presence in the Mediterranean, their maritime commerce has suffered as a result. Britain also helped Germany occupy the Netherlands and is currently trying to get Germany and Austria to give up their extra territories (namely Poland, the Netherlands and Italy). This of course hasn’t worked well. The British navy has as a result of the war proven itself to be the world’s strongest. Unfortunately for Britain however, the constant wars have robbed its treasury a burden which people can already feel on the British isles.

Denmark: Denmark remains sandwiched between Scandinavia and Germany. It fears either side because they both have legitimate claims on Denmark. Danes are “Germanic” and Denmark is a “Scandinavian”country. Needless to say it hopes to play Scandinavia against Germany and vice versa.

France: France was invaded by the British. Its Atlantic harbors and English Channel harbors remain destroyed. The British blockade essentially destroyed its maritime trade and caused a severe depression in France. To sustain itself France had to pay high prices to Spain and in particular Germany for the most basic resources. France’s coffers are rapidly depleting, but the French will be able to survive with its land routes alive.

Germany: Germany at the start of the war sold supplies to both sides, making the richest country even richer. When writers in the Netherlands condemned the Dutch entry in the war Germany seized the opportunity to “inspire democracy” in the Netherlands otherwise known as taking over the Netherlands. The Netherlands remain independent, but are puppeted by the German government. When Austria entered the war Germany took the opportunity to annex all of Poland despite Austrian protests. Germanies actions have destroyed the Continental Alliance, as Austria is distrustful of its northern neighbor. Two countries won the war, Germany being the second (Aztlan the first). Germany has seen its economy get strengthened and its territories grow while Britain and France were busy knocking each other over the head.

The Netherlands want to be free again, the Poles actually welcome the annexation because it gets them out of an economic mess. Germany does however need to integrate its new citizen and make the German to prevent the Poles from demanding independence once they do get an economic hold back.

Ottoman Empire: The Ottoman Empire helped Britain in the war, capturing the French colonies in Africa. Unfortunately as Britain was a maritime nation, the Ottomans got to feel the wrath of the French and Austrians as they took over the Balkans. While it would not do the French any good to push further, the Austrians could see some benefit in doing so. The Austrians haven’t gone for Istanbul because they know that the Ottomans defend Istanbul well. The Ottomans remain one of the most progressive research nations.

Portugal: The whole country mourns as their king is buried. King John was popular with the people and they hope their young new King will sustain Portugal. The Portugal remains a small yet rich country due to its Brazilian and Indian colony.

Russia: The Russian economy got better after the forestry program and slow industrialization. While unemployment remains high, Russia is slowly recovering from the shock of freeing the serfs. Russia has basically taken over all of western north America reaching from Alaska to Oregon.

Scandinavia: Scandinavia stayed neutral throughout the war, instead focusing on industrializing further. Scandinavia has because of its proximity to Russia and Poland received the most immigrants. Scandinavia too has Aztlan’s problem of too much production not enough workers.

Spain: Spain stayed neutral during the war and did essentially nothing. The only thing to note is that the Spanish have built up their navy. After the confrontation with the French their currency has lost value and the Spanish are again in a economic crisis. The Spanish have reinstated their monarchy seeing their parliament was completely useless. The Spanish crown princess remains unmarried...

Switzerland: Believe it or not, it is still neutral.

Peace Talks: Don’t seem to be getting anywhere. France doesn’t want to cut down its army citing Germany and AIE as the main concerns.

Already looking at the list I forgot the Caribbean nations. Basically Cuba = well off, the rest of the independent ones not so much economically.

Germany will attempt to woo this princess, considering Germany's wealth I hope things will go well.

I never said Britain takes your supplies and even if we did we would take war equipment seeing as we have the best equipment It would be stuff like normal trade.

guys, guys, calm down. remember that this is just for fun, it's not actually countries doing real things, so this "fighting" must cease.

It wouldn't  be war supplies and It would be normal trade. And if it was SABed the. Germany would pay for it like all country's would thats how trade works.

And  not trying to screw anyone over its a game and I can control my own character how I want I'm not attacking you in any other RPs it's just Britain in this RP attacks you.

Confirmation from Luft that you may join as the Austro-Italian Empire. Essentially Austria but they also own Italy.

Go ahead and join. You currently have a cease fire with the Ottomans, while a treaty to end the war (Britain, Denmark, Netherlands, Russia and Iceland vs. Austria-Italy and France) is being hammered out. So far France and Austria have been able to dominate the main continent [Europe] while Britain and her allies have a more powerful navy.

First roll is to see who the crown princess of Spain will marry seeing that both Germany and Britain sound appealing to her parents (and with a 50-50 chance dice work well).

11-20 Germany does.

2nd Roll is to see who invents the steam roller. The most scientifically advanced countries are Britain, Portugal and the Ottoman Empire. Britain, Portugal, Germany and France all have steam powered bicycles already so they would get a bonus as well.
