Alignments Empty Alignments

For those of you who are new to roleplaying, you may not know what all the alignments are or what exactly they do. So this post will help explain the differences between all the alignments.

First of all, we have two axes- Lawful vs. Chaotic and Good vs. Evil.

Axis Good vs. Evil is something everyone knows.

Typical Traits
Good- respects life, altruism, and sensitivity for sentient beings

Evil- harming, oppressing, killing others.

Axis Lawful/Chaos is how well you follow the law. Let's put it this way: if you're chaotic, you're less likely to follow the law than people who are lawful (in roleplaying terms).

Typical Traits
Lawful- honor, trustworthiness, obedience of the law, reliability. Downsides include close-mindedness, never or rarely adapts, judgementalness, and reactions to adherence to tradition.

Chaotic- Freedom, flexibility, and adaptablity. Downsides include recklessness, resentment towards legit authorities, irresponsibility, and arbitary actions.

I may not have explained this well. Just in case, check out this website, where you can get this info and other info I may have missed: http://easydamus.com/alignment.html#lawvschaos
