"One thing is certain, though," Merlin says. "War is coming to Camelot."

"I agree." Cei says. "My father was on friendly terms with many kings. He is most likely going to go to one of them, tell them about what happened here. And that's most likely going to start a war. We must prepare."

"Tha's my kind of politics!" Drostan thundered cheerfully, thumping a hand on his chestplate.

"Then let's get to it!" Bedivere says.

Weeks roll on by before a messenger from King Lot of Orkney arrives at the court of King Arthur. After Arthur has allowed for the messenger to an audience, the messenger begins to give out his king's warning:

"King Arthur Pendragon, King Lot of Orkney has formed an alliance with eleven of the greatest kings of Albion against you. A great army of over 500,000 men has been assembled against you. (Yes, this is an exaggeration.) You are advised to surrender your army and your crown to the Great Lot. Otherwise, you will surely be destroyed."

"I will not surrender!" Arthur says rather defiantly.

"Then you will die." The messenger says, walking out of the throne room.

Two weeks pass when a great army arrive on the plains before Camelot. It is pretty clear that Arthur is hopelessly outnumbered.

Phoenix walks to Merlin after the two were alone. He hands over the letter that was sent to him.

"Uther ordered me to keep it quiet until I felt it was time." Phoenix says as he watches Merlin open the letter. Inside was written a request for Phoenix to protect Arthur and to stay in the shadows while keeping a watchful eye on the young king. Phoenix had to let Arthur fight his own battles but Phoenix had too draw the line of wether Arthur needed his help or not. If anything is called into question, ask Merlin. There was only one mention of a pay mention but it was a knighthood in secret as well as pardons for all crimes against the throne in years past. "I can't tell if I'm needed or not. What is your say in this?"

"Against an army this big," Merlin says, handing the letter back to Phoenix. "I'm going to have to say that you are needed. Arthur will need all the soldiers he can muster at his side."

"Alright, but this stays with us." Phoenix says as he takes back the letter and it bursts into flames. "Nobody else shall know if it doesn't concern them. Right, Merlin?" Phoenix asks/demands as his eyes start glowing red.

Phoenix nods and the glow leaves his eyes.

"Let's prepare for war, my friend." Phoenix says as he walks away.

Drostan was thinking.

[What are Camelot's defenses like? How thick and high are the walls, what are the surroundings like, are there any towers or places where siege engines could be mounted, what are the stocks of food and other essentials like, what additional preparations for the invaders have been made?]

Soon, you stand on the battle field with Arthur's army, facing the much greater army.

"FOR ARTHUR!!!" Cei and Bedivere shout, drawing their swords and charging the enemy ranks. Arthur's army follows them.

(For battle sequences like this, you do not need to roll a d12 to discover if you killed the guy. After all, it would make a battle much longer than necessary. The only exception to this rule is if there is someone like a champion fighting in the enemy forces. If that is the case, I will separate said champion from the rest of the enemy army through a unique description.)

(Mycro, there is a river running near Camelot. The walls are decently thick. There are towers where the defenders can mount balistas and such and shoot them at an enemy target. Archers fill all of the towers. Camelot is also on a hill, which would make it difficult for the invaders to reach the walls, nevermind climb over them. There is also a surplus of food for about a month or so. However, another suitable defense would be pitch in front of the castle.)

Drostan made sure he was on the front lines. His first stroke splintered an enemy's wooden shield and smashed through mail and ribs alike, felling the man easily. He ripped the claymore from the corpse and brought it smashing down onto another foe's head, rending metal and splitting the skull into a horrific artifact of death as the body spasmed wildly, dropping its sword in the process. "Come! Come to your deaths, lawless bastards! Arthur Pendragon is king!" With a roar he charged further into the melee.

Phoenix on top of the towers creates three balls of flame and lunches them at the enemy and makes sure not to any of Arthur's troops.

The first hits a single soldier and burns him badly before he falls dead, the other two turned about five soldiers to ash each.

"Yeah!" Phoenix exclaimed as he readied another volly. "Long live King Arthur!!!"

Cei and Bedivere approach the first two enemy soldiers in their way and swing their swords wildly.

Meanwhile, Raven loads her bow again and- after enchanting it with fire- launch it into the horde.

Another soldier approaches Drostan and thrusts his spear at him...

The blows of Cei and Bedivere are blocked.

Raven's arrow misses its mark and plunges into the river.

The spear of the soldier snaps in half as Drostan blocks it.
